My concern isn't the games against city and chelsea next.We always show up against the big teams but stutter against lesser teams.

The biggest test will be playing a lesser team at anfield next to see if the mental block is gone.

Can someone tell me what is the benefit of this buy british policy? Why is it nationality is preferred over ability?

And the excuse given is they will settle easily and premiership proven.

Now the excuse given for all the poor results is that the team is yet to gel.Guess what aguero mata have all settled

while ours was supposed to take a much shorter time.Disgusted with such policy.

errr. it kinda obvious rite? 6+5 rule.

No it's not.Downing doesnt qualify as homegrown. The homegrown things is totally different than what we think.
It states something about having the player played since before 19 or 21 something like that.Fabregas was considered as homegrown for arsenal.

How could Flanagan, Kelly or Johnson in first 11 together. We need 5 home grown players on the pitch until the game ends. Therefore, downing Henderson and Adam brought in.

okay.thanks for enlightening me.

I saw comments that kenny should be sacked.now that is way over the top.But i still dont find anything wrong in questioning his decision to persist with downing
and henderson in the starting line up.At least henderson has the excuse of being played out of position and still young.

I really hope FSG gives kenny money to buy a decent right winger in january.most preferrably foreign because british players have zero flair.

and something for our forwards from bill shankly tongue.gif

English players aren't exactly loyal as well tongue.gif

Downing, from Boro to Villa to Liverpool
Henderson, understandable la, from Sunderland to Liverpool
Carroll, Geordie, but moved to Liverpool
Rooney, self proclaimed Blue but forced the move to the Mancs
Gareth Barry, from Villa to Man City
Milner, Leeds, Newcastle Utd, Aston Villa, Citeh

Torres will definitely not come back after the way he left and the manner he criticised the club.Even if it were to happen,i torres will have to push for this move
instead of liverpool.

Besides torres is no more the same striker that we bought 4 years ago.Injuries and lack of interest.

Come on guys,i am sure there better strikers to suggest instead of him.I think a realistic option will be carlton cole.Premiership proven and fits FSG policy.

Some website also report kenny and comolli looking into lucas moura for 20million.

All strikers will be useless with the midfielders and LW we have now

Sadly you are right. We have the least pace among the top sides. All the teams have fast players that we are lacking for some time.
Adam passing is not upto mark. sad.gif

QUOTE(Duke Red @ Nov 10 2011, 10:58 PM)
Are you sure we never made an inquiry? Also, do you reckon he'd leave a team who qualified for Europe for one who isn't in it altogether? Why Downing? Why not? Were you totally against the idea at the time we wanted to sign him or only now that he isn't setting the world alight? Would Mata have settled into English football? Would he have settled to life in England? Would he pack his bags and leave if we don't qualify for the Champions League again? Yes, British players however overpriced, are a safer bet when it comes to adaptability. For every successful foreigner there is a Fernando Morientes, Andrei Shevchenko or Juan Sebastian Veron. It's also been said before that managers from a particular region prefer to work with players from that region.
We spent a lot but what is the average age of the players we've spent on? Buying young players isn't an indication of our intent to look to the future? Perhaps you need to be reminded that we have a wage structure and the focus is on young players hence why we didn't add to the salary of Meireles. I disagree that Carroll was a panic buy, it was a statement of intent by the owners, that they would spend money if they deemed it necessarily and would not do so foolishly. It was timely as well as fans were skeptical after Tom and Jerry promised much and spent nothing out of their own pockets, loading us with debt instead. Read between the lines.  We got 50 for Torress and at the time Carroll was in fine form and I still have high hopes for him. So easy to criticize when results are less than satisfactory. Who not spend more time finding answers to your own questions? I think we owe it to the manager, the club and the players to understand and empathize rather than to criticize, no?
*
I agree with the rest of your points except for this part.Mata, aguero have all settled and are doing well. While our british signings are yet to hit the ground running.
So british doesnt mean you will adapt better. The only worthy english ones in our team are the ones that have come from the liverpool academy.Gerrard, kelly, carra, owen, fowler etc.Funny enough the reason michael owen left us was because he wanted to win the UCL.So loyalty is not an foreigner issue here.Despite torres being unloyal he did his best when he was with us here and came up with the goals eventhough he played badly in a match.

I really miss our spanish contingent sad.gif

But i am not getting my hopes up for alonso's return.I think there are two players who can be the next alonso.Nuri sahin and javi martinez. We have suso but i am not sure if he is a deep lying playmaker.

Anyway, just want to ask you guys if anybody subscribe to LFCTV online? I am thinking of subscribing hmm.gif

I did. wasn't that worth the experience in terms of exclusivity.

for matchday, you only get to 'hear' the radio version of the match.

but for reserves and U-s matches, yeah, they are live.

Oh ok thanks.Might have to reconsider now.Hows the england game so far? I heard they are getting battered. laugh.gif

See the hypocrisy here?

When Suarez is finally charged and found guilty by the FA, I knew this would be the kind of reply that will came out from you lots.

Now, racism is racism. Why still defend him?
*
Who said i was defending racism?DONT assume things that you dont know.Do you even know how the system works?

He is charged but not proved guilty yet. It's innocent till proven guilty.Thats the legal system basis around the world.Hypocrisy is worse in MUST.Always taking a dig at LFC even when nothing is going on.Pot calling kettle black blush.gif

Wonder why they so eager to come here and post. Not like they have more than a brain cell to post anything proper and decent.
They should know better than anyone else that karma is biatch. We said come back when you have 18,it haunts us now.

Well they're doing it worse than what we did last time,so in the future they will pay for it.Though,it's too bad that they are all too short sighted
to realise it.

Word vs word, only 2 ppl will know..suarez and evra. If you actually read what I posted, never once did I say suarez is guilty, I said charges were pressed or something along those lines. As for how do I know otherwise? I already said this, I dont, and I'm not playing the guessing game. I just hate it when people start to make hypothetical and plausible scenarios to "justify"
*
May i ask your opinion about the fact evra has claimed racist chants against him in the past a few times? One against steve finnan, then against some chelsea
staff?both accused were aquitted of the offence. So isnt there a high possibilty of crying wolf again?

Break it down for ya.

1. suarez accused of racism
2. fans say suarez is not a racist
3. says that suarez played in holland for 5 years no racial issue
4. therefore, because of #3, #1 cannot be true.

flawed logic. like i said, first time for everything. as for suarez being a racist, maybe, maybe not. but the saying suarez played 5 years with no incident isnt really valid "prove" enough to completely discount him.

Added on November 17, 2011, 4:00 pm

Please....facts right then post ffs. First off, the Steve Finnan incident, Evra did not accuse anyone, it was a deaf fan who lipread it and made a report. For the london rentboys incident, it was Mike Phelan who leveled the accusation. Just because it involves Evra, doesnt mean he made the claim. This is the FIRST time he is making a racial accusation.

I thought you pool fans damn like facts. facts about this, facts about that....get your facts right like rafa plz.
*
Right,i apologise for getting my facts wrong.but what's the need for the disrespectful language against the forummers here? shouldn't there be decorum or manners in a forum?

to all torres haters, you all actually dont know why Torres left the club...

Fernando Torres insists Liverpool fans are unaware of the real reasons behind his transfer to Chelsea.

*
I dont think people blame torres for leaving.Just that the manner and timing he left.We already knew after rafa benitez left that he was going to leave. It was confirmed by him in this article.Doesn't matter now anymore. He's gone and his contribution here will be remembered.I just hope he doesnt score against us this weekend.
