He's ability to content bigger forwards fading day by day. If you watch him this season, he has less counts on his account for his guarding tackles. Skrtel , yes ..he could cost us points if he don't watch his body movements towards defending. But on Saturday he almost opened goal count for us in nit? Correct me if i'm wrong..

Johnson , however has the ability of moving forward with dangerous runs into the box and could win penalties for us (like he did in the 1st season). Its about time to put Carroll upfront and design the service around him rather than criticising him not making use of the service he is given. On Saturday he took a header from Gerrard's cross from the right. So he is very much a left oriented player and needs the service coming from the right

In terms of basics we should be taking the ball to the byline and cutting it back so he facing the goal when he strikes the ball. Crosses driven from the wide positions along the touch lines have to travel further and allow the defence to organise themselves and step forward and cut out the cross. As we saw on weekend's Manchester derby the cross driven fron the edges of the 18 yard box are less of a lottery and stand a good chance of a goal.

We need to replace Adam with Henderson so that Andy receives steady passes to feet and allows him to become more engaged in the middle third coming back to receive the ball. The Adam sporadic fast driven balls down the channels for the strikers to chase will not help Andy to become a prolific scorer. He need the steady presence of Henderson behind feeding him a steady supply of regular paced balls. This would regularise our play and allow us to make attempts on goal when it is sensible and appropriate rather than the default position to go for goal when the odds are long. Lets get back to old style patient pass and move where we create clear cut chances.

A midfield that provides our strikers with a tad more time and space and better angles will help them to put away their chances

It would be a shame to 'let Carroll go" because other players cannot deliver the service he needs. It is bizzare that Carroll is dropped from side when those who are supposed to be providing him with a gold service seem to keep their places week after week?

If A.Carroll can developed, we will have 5-6 attacking threats in the team - together with Stvie.G, Suarez, Enriq, G.Johnson, JHenderson (hopefuls) and Downing (hopefuls) - this of cos will take time to develop team play - just like City 2 seasons ago, where despite huge financial investment, teamplay is poor...becos they have not work out a variety of teamplay i.e 1-touch, pass and run, organization, pressing, direct passing, interchange, counter attack etc etc....
