The processes and wakelocks tabs all are caused by system processes, thats why im focusing my attention on system processes.

Remember 1.8 is still alpha stage. May have some other problem. I had wifi stuck when turning off and 1 reboot (which i suspect is related to the wifi issue) with 1.8 alpha 6. Went back to 1.7.8 until next alpha/beta for me to test.  rolleyes.gif
*
I know, just now my phone just shut down by itself while in standby mode. I think i shud flash back to 1.7.8 tomorrow as i wanna see if android os is the culprit.

Siyah Kernal 1.8 alpha states that the AOS bug is gone, is it true or its just like speedmod where the logging was disabled, still reading the thread from the back.
*
Its been 3 hrs since i updated to 1.8,so far so good, android os is 3% rclxm9.gif i see tonight will it increase or not but for now,i think its fixed. i did enable logging too btw.

whats the performance of touch x-power kg5 2.3.4 rom these days?is it ok with the 1.6 retouched siyah kernel? i tried to load it before but my phone got hang.

what is the good combination for x-power rom? is it compatible with other kernel?
*
Try pair with siyah kernel 1.7.8. all kernel can pair, just tat performance/battery life will be different. It depends on which u like better, for me i like siyahkernel the best smile.gif

which one is better , the older one or the new one.
*
Dunno how many times ppl ask this question(at least 50+ times) anyways,if u want better game support and heat dissipation, then new(g) model, but has no custom roms or kernels to play with. Old one has a marginally more powerful proc n gpu,and has many custom roms n kernels to flash.

up to you to decide now

old 1 better

The original Samsung Galaxy S II GT-I9100 is using Samsung own Exynos 4210 SoC CPU and ARM Mali-400 GPU. On the other hand, GT-I9100G uses Texas Instruments OMAP4430 CPU and PowerVR SGX540 GPU. Both of the CPU is running at 1.2 GHz based on dual core ARM Cortex-A9. Not sure the exact CPU performance difference. However, the PowerVR SGX540 (which was used in previous generation Galaxy S) is much slower than ARM Mali-400. And can’t enable Anti-Aliasing (4xAA and 16xAA) with Chainfire3D Pro.

Wow,nice technical explaination. but i wonder if he would understand this(no offense arh)

hm, i'm still newbie here. got major differences between single-core and dual-core? previously i read some reviews they say SGS+ got 1.5Ghz proc. but only single core while SGS2 got dual core 1.4Ghz. so 1.4Ghz dual core is better. i want to know what's the major differences.
*
Erm its kinda hard to explain, but i'll try. ghz only counts when the amount of cores the same,so the higher the ghz, the more powerful the proc. but if compare single core 1.5ghz vs dual core 1.4ghz,dual core will win. Its like this, dual core got 2 cores, single cores only has 1 core. something like this 1core=1 hand,2 cores=2 hands, which is faster in doing tasks? Definitely 2hands will be faster. hope u can understand my explaination

is sgs2 too big for one hand operation? is it pocketable, ie can be kept in the trousers pocket without feeling too bulky?
*
For my small hands its not much of a problem, but sometimes might need to change hand position to reach some parts. as in pocketability, so far no prob

@Similan it just comes down to personal preference, some ppl hav small hands some have big hands. From wat u post here, i feel that u are slightly apple biased, always posting anti android stuff here n android forum

i am not anti-android. understand that it is not something worthless bcos it sells quite a lot.
even myself has bought and used the sgs/sgs2/sensation before.
even not using iphone now but blackberry.

however, there are critical weaknesses in android that i happen to brought up.
unfortunately, instead of discussing like mature human beings, many here just seek to dismiss similan as 'troll' or somebody that doesn't know her stuff.
while i am sure that thr are many nice android users out there, many exist as extremist droidfags.

like it or not, apple is the leading smartphone brand and iphone is the world's most recognized phone that changed the world before.
i also hope one day, android/meego/windows phone can continue to survive and push for innovation.
too much dominant by one company is dangerous.

but before we change, we must analize what is the leader's strength and weakness. never ignore if we must improve.

*
Wait,your a girl? shocking.gif
But u just sorta like slightly exaggerate things, like just now u said android is instable and everything. yes, that is true, but applies to last time only, android has improved alot and its quite stable now. Last time ur sgs2 have auto reboot issues too izit? If u read past pages,i do agree tbat iphone changed the world of smartphones. without iphone,i think we all using blackberry/windows mobile devices. android still have room for improvements, like selecting text,on my old iphone,i can use magnifying glass to select text in lowyat to delete typos, but on galaxy s2,its quite hard. And when i scroll abit, the text marker thing would go somewhere else n annoys me to hell mad.gif hope samsung can make it more accurate

i would say is a pretty good battery usage at 1% per hour
*
i dont sync anything in background, wifi and data was off, no apps running in background, so i expected maybe 2-3 hrs 1% drop rate. plus i already put in dual core script
