err i found in the net

GSR = screwdriver / Drill
GSB = screwdriver / Drill + Hammer drill

rclxub.gif

how about Black and Decker 14.4v EPC14100K?
*
Yes.. GSR = screwdriver / Drill but you cannot select or twist which one to use..

GSB = You can choose either Screwdriver / Drill / Hammer function.. You can twist to select the function..

just had a chat with one of the bosch dealership hardware shop owner. yes, bosch are currently rebranding those 10.8v to 12v. the sole reason is for price hike, so be prepare for it...

basically those 10.8v and 12v tool are the same. same function, same internal, same battery just a new '12v' wording for them to charge higher price..
*
We as a consumer end macam kena tipu je.. Just wording '12v' but actually 10.8v

the only channel to get cheap is from online with really good discount to use... sweat.gif

there will be a few more new 10.8v/12v cordless 'toy' to be release soon....i'm wondering what is coming here for our market...

few stuff which already available overseas but not yet reach our shore e.g GAS 10.8v vacuum, GRO 10.8v rotary tool...
this is the only way they could raise the selling price without pissing off general consumer directly....but for those who knew it like most of us here, of course we will  ranting.gif  ranting.gif just like you mention, kena tipu..
*
Then we need to watch out if they're selling 12v item.. Haishhh vmad.gif

Hi guys, would like to know if buying a Makita HR2470 rotary drill (seems like a recommended model here) for normal home usage (drilling holes for tv bracket, curtain rails, mirrors, etc) would be an overkill? Can it drill small holes for the above items?

Been using a hammer drill previously. Definitely looking forward to make life easier smile.gif but worried if it will be too much for normal usage.
*
My house was built using hard burned red brick (which is so damn hard) thus Makita HR2470 does the job efficiently.

Then I bought GSB1080v cordless. It does the job same like makita but a bit longer and u need to press harder. Certain areas I cannot drill to expected level, makita finish off the task..

However, when dealing with new house (mostly white brick), my GSB does the drill job easily like kacang putih..

So for me, u need to see type of brick your house have. Decide from there.. We can recommend powertools but the person who use it knows better which tools suitable for him/her..

I personally nowadays prefer GSB than Makita.. Lightweight, compact and flexible.

what setting shld i use for gsb if i want to install door closer?  shld i drive the screw inside my main door or drill hole? i tried to drive screw in, but is too hard.
*
U used screw function or hammer function?

I did used hammer function before on hard door. Managed to drive in..

Try using drill function. Or else try to drill first using wood drill.. Just a patch so that the screw won't glide when u want to drive it in..

Well... RM98 for occasional home DIY use should be ok I think.
Just make sure you wear protections when using it. 13k rpm rotating grinder disk...

13k rpm wor.. manyak bahaya..

Any power tools can be reliable and last very long, even if it is a PRC stuff.
But if you don't know how to use, even the Bosch very high end power tool can fail as fast as after 1 hour of usage.
*
Yeah.. I got bosch angle grinder since when forgot already.. But still can use.. powahhhh
