Starting March 2016, in phases, all Maybank Cards will be replaced with PIN-enabled Cards.

It meantioned all Maybank Cards, is it only limit to credit card and debit card?
How about normal ATM Maybankard ?
*
As far as I know, AmBank did sent notice to normal ATM card holders to upgrade to the new Debit Card as well. Not too sure about Maybank.

Seems like "all ATM, Debit Card, Credit Card" need to change to new card with "Pay Wave" functions to encourage Cashless Payment.

ATTENTION: Fake Maybank Debit Card Replacement message
Dear Maybank Customers,

It has come to our attention that there have been SMSes, emails, FB postings, and WhatsApp messages being circulated regarding the requirement to replace your Maybank Debit cards by 31 July 2016 and that a fee of RM12 will be applicable for replacements made after 31 July 2016.

Please be informed that this message was not sent or authorised by Maybank. If you receive such a message, please ignore it. We request all customers to refer to our website at www.maybank2u.com.my for latest information on all our products and services, including card replacements.

We would also like to clarify that all Maybank ATM/Debit Cards will have to be changed to the new enhanced PIN-enabled MyDebit Card now. There is no cost involved for the replacement. If you have not already done so, please change your card immediately at any Maybank branch to continue enjoying the convenience of the Maybank ATM/Debit card.

Thank you.

If Saving Account with normal debit card charged RM8 + GST per year means the account is not Basic Saving Account right?

For HLB example
*
you may wish to convert it to basic savings account.

Want to ask, I use my new pb debit card to pay for my McDonald's meal , once I slot in my card transactions straight approved without keying in my 6 digits pin. Is this normal? The total amount is less than rm10 though..
*
that is normal swipe transaction. no pin nor signature required.

Now I am confused...I thought all 'swipe' transactions will need pin verification....only RFID "wave" payment is pin free, up to rm250?...
*
so far, i never entered any pin number for McDonald's transactions. tried different cards as well. slot in or wave also no need pin number. not sure if they will ask for pin with effective from 1st of July 2017 (compulsory pin n pay).

hi guys, i have an alliance debit card which expired on last year. i didn't use it because most of the time i do it online. so is it necessary for me to go renew the card? will they charge me extra for only renew 1 year later after expiry date?
*
perhaps, they may consider it as new application rather than renewal. your old card should be deleted from their system since it was expired.

Today I went to CIMB to change, the officer said if your account is non-fee, you will not be charged for AF. So, it is not BNM ruling that all MyClear card need to be charged. Seem like Ambank is the one who charged  dry.gif

2. What are the fees and charges I have to pay?
Description Fees
Card Annual Fee
- First year Waived
- Second year onwards RM8.48 (inclusive of GST)

(For Debit Card tied to Basic

Guys, why now there is so much rush/announcement to change the new Debit Card asap for every bank?

Is it that if change next year, will be charged?

Or just that if didn't change, the card unable to do purchase?

I have a card that just use for ATM once in a while. Wonder if I should rush to change it too.
