why are you so hung up about "selected ppl who has larger amount in their savings" or "more than RM100k or something"??????

card design has nothing to do with how much you have with the bank!


each bank may use different vendor. they may go with dfiferent design depending on cost and volume of customers.
cost differs according to card material used: cheaper pvc cant last long, usually used for loyalty card or even debit card.
they are also balancing between card cost vs usability period (before replacement).

some banks go for "premium" look like credit card. some looks cheapo like loyalty card. some in between.

for printing on the card, there are 2 types in general: EMBOSS (like those in credit card, using embossing machine to "punch" the numbers) and another is IMPRINT (like most debit cards, just minor scratch-printing on the surface). generally payment card seldom use THERMAL printing because it wont last long and gets removed easily for long use.

obviously they are saving cost for debit cards because of volume due to shift from ATM -> Debit Card.
