Yeah, you are right, but don't believe it's different in other countries. From what I have heard in the US for example you could go to a SA to buy a WP7 device. You tell them, you want one. Not an iPhone, not an Android. And they will try to push you towards one of those anyway, laugh at you for wanting to buy a WP7 phone etc. etc.

It is slightly better in Germany, but there the main thing that finally moved lots of WP7 phones was dropping the price, for a while some were around RM 700 without contract, so many bought them. For that price you can only get an entry level Android, and they are useless, slow, awful.

should be ready the cable by this friday. so will work on my HD7 this weekend.. if it work. RM100 for unbrick/downgrade SPL5.*

was also using the goldcard method to downgrade my spl on android last time..

i went SIS distribution yesterday. and they confirm dont do the goldcard method as well. so if u have a brick phone... dont bother to go warranty.

nope.. there have no way to detect if your phone is brick and can not power on and stuck at the HTC logo. they might classified that as motherboard problem and swap 1 for u.

instead. they cant flash back 7004 for u also. maybe they can but they just dont want to do that. i offer them RM200 also they dont/cant do for me

naaa.. ive already formatted the card and use it as a normal sdcard

might generate another 1 for wp7.. need to do research again though.. troublesome..

if i ve downgrade the spl i can jailbreak the phone to install downloaded xap files and install custom roms and those are the only benefits right?

anyway fulat, when doing the goldcard, isn't it specific to the memory card ?

not really. all brand are capable. but try to get 512MB, 1GB or 2GB. try avoid SDHC. u need to find out the CID(Card ID) for the card before u can make goldcard. once u have the CID. go to certain website and verify the CID so that i can generate a goldcard.img files.

use that files and make ya card bootable for droid/wp7 device. once done. extract the correct ROM NBH files write to the card.

once the goldcard created. verify with ya desktop. it shouldnt prompt u the card is corrupted and u need to format it.

after verify, connect cable Y to USB port. at the other end connect the card reader. hold volume-, camera and power button and turn ya device into USB host mode.

connect ya device at the other end. it will automatically detect and force the ROM update to ya device

anything wrong above. might lead to permanent unbrickable.

the goldcard can use for others phone. but u need to search for the right ROM for ya next device.
