Ya, same issue with me, either way, I dont think there is a solution to this if you want to let the cover remove to show case. I have search thru the internet, some site did provide some guide on this issue but doesn't seem like able to solve.

For me, just let it be, try to arrange as much as you could with the rear engine cover and hope the gap won't be too great.

If you really feel "heart pain" seeing the gap, use super glue and settle them once and for all. tongue.gif

You can ask those shop which got do for photo frame, example, you bring a photo or picture (big size) then they put on a frame based on your photo and put a glass in front to cover, those kind of shop.

Display cabinet good provided your place is big enough to place the display cabinet. For me, even this display case, I have difficulty to put. hahaha.

Got the last issue # 85 but not yet putting on all the decal. Not sure if really need the decal softener or not as it will be hard to get from KL or PJ as not many hobby shop carry them. Went to 1U tamiya and ask, no stock, and don't know when will come, said is 3 weeks time doh.gif

Search from the internet, look like can use clear vinegar to replace this decal softener, anyone try before?

This is what I have so far:

You see, from the top, the engine cover gap between the body isn't that bad. Of cause if you see from the side, haha, all the ugly will come out. PS: Taken the photo via my Samsung S4 under a low light living room condition, not bad eh? tongue.gif

Hi ckshieh...yes really feel abit paint when see the gap especially for modeller like us looking for perfection. It's really a discount for the money we spent. I thk i just focus on the front engine cover side coz the rear wing side not so obvious. Or else i will try use hot water air steam and stick it for a while until the shape bend like suggested by US forumer. As for the decals, ya quite hard to find softener in malaysia, i just use plain water. so far so good for my carbon decals suspension.

Ya, I know what you mean specially when we look back how much we spent for this model. I don't think the hot water air steam will help based on the thickness of the material in this car. But if you do success doing so, let us know? Those for the carbon decal is still ok, I am worry about the front wing "long" and bend decal on the nose. That one from the look, won't be enough for just plain water as you can see the nose is really round in shape.

Some photo taken during last 2 days when I still working on the decal. Now, only the nose decal don't dare to put in without the decal softener. Will post some photo later on.

Manage to get the decal softener from Tamiya Underground located at 1Utama new wing, but the result not so satisfy. The decal isn't really soften enough (didn't manage to take a photo to show).

Just to take note, the nose con decal is very tricky to put on as it will roll into a con shape if you don't have enough "water" around it and also on the plastic surface. It takes me almost 15 mins to align and still got it out of balance a bit.

Hi where to get decal softener? im done till issue 84...now wana do the final decal finishing on the decals. already give up on the engine cover issue. I thk the front nose round part will be the tricky one as i foresee it will pop up on the round area...any advice?

Same here even you can't see, doesn't mean they are not there. Finished but still can be better in many areas.
