Just went to allscript. They have until issue 76. More issues (up to issue 80) expected next Monday.

I'll be pretty upset if they did have until 80 as I drove all the way there from cyberjaya only to end up with 2 issues (I already have up to issue 74)

I've completed until issue 75. A bit kan-cheong, so I skipped to installing the monocoque (issue 77).

I have to say that when the car starts to come together from issue 70+ onwards, it gets a bit stressful. I, for one, keep knocking off parts already assembled.

For the monocoque, test fitting time was fine but when glue was used, suddenly the monoque couldn't fit and I'm left with a gap on the left side of the car. Stress!

BTW, according to Allscript the last 5 issues might be here by end of next week. Best to give them a call to confirm on 24th.

Collinjn81, my current problem is a gap when I fitted the monocoque (the one with Aigo on the side). However, I had the same issue as you do. What I did was to tighten the screws below the car even more until the gap closed.

Aswlee, I just assemble monocoque, noticed that there a gap on left and right side and it is normal.

Thanks, collinjn81.

On the glue topic,
For ABS, I used Tamiya extra-thin cement and Revell contacta professional (for those places where thin cement couldn't be used.

For general adhesive, I used UHU applied with a toothpick but I agree with collinjn81. Less sticky and takes some time to dry. Definately need tape to hold parts until it cures.

Apart from these 2, there's superglue for the metal parts.

Do u guys know that there is a new build for formula 1? It's a red bull racing rb7 year 2011. Remote control type, scale is 1:7. Can't wait for it to come to Msia.

From my chat with Allscript, next collection (est. Sept) to launch is the James Bond car collection. No news on any further F1-related models.

As for me, I'm hoping for the MP4/4 and the Aston Martin DB5 (both 1:8) to make it here.

Nice! Congrats on making it through the finish line.

For the decals, you can also try HLJ - Click for list of decals. It says out of stock but you can still place an order. I did that on 2 separate occasions and HLJ managed to get it for me.

For those who are still contemplating about the decal, have a look at the one I have applied to my cockpit battery:

The decal is small but so fine that you can still read the label! (Blurness of the words in the picture is my fault. The decal words are sharp)

Thanks.. BTW maybe issue 80 settle the problem. They replaced air intake.
*
Yes, they did have a gap issue with the Japanese market and this was solved for the UK/Malaysia/etc market with a smaller intake in issue 80.

However, the folks discussing in the UK forum still had the issue despite using the smaller intake. This could have been caused by the engine & transmission cowl (from issue 77) being flattened out of shape a bit due to shipping. So those folks on the forum have resorted to hair dryers, hot water (and even naked flame!) to reshape the cowl.

85 issues @ RM$9.90 for the first issue, RM$19.90 for the second and RM$29.90 for the rest. Total $2,511.50 for all.

Wish Allscript would bring in the MP4/4 instead of restocking the MP4/23.
