Damn stray demon took me 1hour+ to kill. The number of times I died trying easily exceeded all the other deaths put together in the rest of the game.

Last nite I challenged the Stray Demon too. But he's so strong and especially his attacks causes fire AoE. I died all the time by him. I am level 20 that time. Should I keep trying or venture somewhere else first? did he drop anything good?

Good thing I went there. I got the ring that neglect movement penalty while in any water or swamp. Now I am going to The Depths. The ring is really useful there icon_idea.gif

Thx a lot bro. I cant watch in the office, its blocked. I'll check it back home later.
I also have the Crest shield from the knight in the tutorial. It will probably help.

The blacksmith who sell the crest for the Darkroot garden about 20k souls, should i buy it?

Ok started playin only yesterday night.... my God...
this is harder than demon's souls imo.... and was so nerve wrecking....and I need some advice about two enemies

there is one place with winding stairs ...

(SPOILER)
going up and down, and I used the master key to go downstairs and this bad-ass armour guy is waiting, with a big shield and some crazy weapon.. started chasing me, had to run, then at some point try to sidestep him to backstab (only after many tries coz he's so fast!) and all I get is like 23pts damage..damn!
hardly damaged him

So I ran up, many flight of stairs...and the guy is still chasing behind..and then I saw the white fog and pass through, and looked behind, saw the guy! but luckily he's stuck, can't pass through

But my relief was shortlived...
coz a few steps forward, I met the big ass Taurus boss.. and dunno what strat to use.. coz the path is narrow, rolled pass his first attack, but on the second attack - 1 hit kill.... so demoralising.

Guys, I think a lot of you have passed this stage of the game! pls,any tips to beat these two foes!

(SPOILER ENDS...sorry, some prob with office browser, can't use spoler tag)

i finally figured out how to kill that black knight in Undead Burg. i lure him out and climb to a ledge and just spam fireball on his face until he die. got some titanium rock or something like that from him and also a blue ring he was guarding.

now i have to figure out how to kill another knight at the bottom of a spiral staircase in the tower.

Dark Souls Co-op answers from Officials

QUOTE
First "official" response on Namco Bandai's website

Due to several contacts we've received from users confused as to how the summoning feature works in game, we have provided this list to help.

Conditions for summoning (White Sign Soapstone):

The host (person who's game world will be used) must be human. The client (person joining the game) can either be human or undead.

The client’s level must fall within 10% (above or below) of the host’s level. Generally, this example formula should give you a good idea on whether you will be able to join:   (LC x 1.1) ≥ LH ≥ (LC x 0.9), where is LC the level of the client and LH is the level of the host. For example, if the level of the host is 20, then they will only be able to summon players who are levels 18 to 22.

The area boss (Taurus Demon, Bell Gargoyles, Moonlight Butterfly, etc…) in the host’s world must still be alive. A client can still be summoned even if the client has already defeated their own area boss.

The host must not have placed down a summoning sign. Summoning signs from other players will not appear in a host’s world if the host also has placed a summoning sign down. This is to prevent a network conflict of the host joining someone else's game world while the clients are trying to join the host's game world.

After successfully summoning, the client will return to their world if the area boss is defeated, the client is killed or the host is killed.
Also, please note that there are several different servers/lobbies that are being used for Dark Souls, so you may not be able to summon a specific friend into your game even if you adhere to the steps above. We can only recommend that you follow the steps above for the best chance at being able to join a specific friends' game

The article didn't state about region locking.
It may just be when we connect to the game, we would be place in a lobby/server with other players (regardless of region). Therefore we probably need to quit and load the game again until you and your friend in the same server/lobby.

The covenant Way of the White probably takes priority to be placed in the same lobby due to the covenant perks.

It's all just my opinion btw.

+1 I remember the description of Way of the White states that it'll bring friends in your PSN list closer to you and the Chaos covenent's effect is the opposite.
