Sure is best to learn from other people experience.

That is the purpose of the forum like this.  Certainly helps me a lot.  And your input is invaluable to me choosing the right sofa.  So far so good.   smile.gif

I believe this was shared somewhere before about sofa. But no harm putting it here.

Leren Leather, Casa Leather are names used in certain sofa and are not leather but looks like and to a certain feel like leather.

Also, leather bond is not leather but uses scrap leather rebonded as the base.

Split leather is leather but not Top Grain. Here's is the dangerous part, it can be called bovine leather in general.

I think Leren is used mainly by one retailer (not sure here?) but Casa leather seem to be widespread.  So better be careful.  Buyer just need to know what you are paying for.

Some retailers when you ask them, they tell you the truth but some just say it is some form of leather. This is the problem as it is a trade name and not wrong other than a case of misrepresentation. smile.gif

Thanks for your input.  I've checked with several friends using Cellini as well.  Guess I will give it a miss. smile.gif

They do have decent design.

However, besides design, other considerations are important. Ultimately durability, maintainability, and quality are important considerations to the overall cost of investment.

After spending the weekends on the shop for furniture, end up a waste of time.  So much of unprofessional sales tactics.

Two days ago contact prop99 for the sofa.  All done in a jiffy.  smile.gif  smile.gif

Always good to check what is out there. Variety is the way of life. Anyway, always have a base criteria otherwise you cannot benchmark the price for comparisons.

Hey prop99, does Furniture Direct source from China factories?
*
Not the one I deal with.

However, there may be others that may call themself by xxx Furniture Direct.

I presume you are referring to quality. smile.gif

Not really, I saw a nice sofa bed model in Singapore and traced it back via Google  icon_rolleyes.gif  to its factory in China.
Was wondering if Furniture Direct would source it from China.  blush.gif
*
Problem with China furniture would be warranty. For sofa, where usage could be heavy it may pose a challenge. Even in Singapore where sofa is sourced from Malaysia, turnaround can be slow and cost to warranty can be very costly. smile.gif
