QUOTE(jchue73 @ Oct 27 2011, 07:00 PM) Yup. thanx bro for the advise. previously i bought nikon lens, from 1 shop. the time i bought, the lens working just fine. then after 2 days, the focusing seems to be malfunctioning. then i send it back to the shop, and they replace with new one. This is what i refer to after sales service. if youre in my shoes, do you send the lens directly to Nikon SC? After sales service? I suually go back to Nikon SC directly for anything that needs servicing. I leave the shop out of the equation because they send to Nikon SC also. In MY where got after sales service? It's unheard of. At the end of the day, do your homework to find the best prices, make sure the place you're gonna buy has new stock and just pay. my concern to ask in the forum probably one of my homework, to seek advise from sifu's across LYNet. In what sense do you clasified 'Homework' as? please advise on this matter. Anyhow thank you for your favorable advise, and will keep it in mind |

Dear Sifu's,
Im not sure is this the right thread to ask regarding filters issue, but appreciate if you guys can give your advise on which filters do you prefer. Just bought Nikkor 24-70 F2.8 and not sure what filter is the best to put on this lens, either B+W XS-PRO or HOYA HD. Please help and advise me on this. Rgrds. |

QUOTE(Agito666 @ Nov 8 2011, 12:27 PM) hmm ya lor forget count the filter too... then total i need prepare is 6.5k to be safe... actually the cash is ready for either B+W XS-PRO (RM290) or HOYA HD (RM250), the main concern is which filter is the best. Since price is not the main issue here, hope you guys can give your opinion on this.if i plan to get da lens with a good UV filter. ----------- good reading yo haha http://gizmodo.com/5857279/this-is-how-len...our-pretty-face Rgrds. |

QUOTE(0168257061 @ Nov 8 2011, 02:56 PM) I used two brands before, erm..so apa macam ni bos..nda tau mau pilih yg mana ni..Hoya HD easier a bit to clean, what u compromise is the filter thread material. when you actually compare Hoya HD and B+W XS-Pro very obvious that the XS-Pro is much heavier because of the brass material. How hard are both glass ? Who dare to try ? hahaha Last time my friend drop his 17-55 with XS-Pro mounted, drop from 70-80cm height, the filter thread absorbed all the impact, glass crack but nothing happen to the lens at all. |

QUOTE(iXora.ix @ Nov 8 2011, 05:29 PM) I will choose B+w over Hoya because of quality. I own 2 B+w filter and hoya, definitely B+W win because of their Thats the main reason rite now. for 77mm there's no nano coating version yet in the market. glass performance like no white balance change and low glare. and also, get the new one, the nano coating just wondering is there any major diff to put Nano Coating filter to Nano Coated lens such nikkor 24-70mm? QUOTE(Andy214 @ Nov 8 2011, 05:44 PM) hahaha nice comparison bro.. |

QUOTE(ikki9394 @ Nov 8 2011, 09:45 PM) Are u sure bout that? According to this lens test HOYA appears to have better UV reduction. bro actually ur not comparing the exact with and without nano version. U supposed compare B+W MRC CPL vs B+W MRC CPL NANO / B+W KSM CPL vs B+W KSM CPL NANO. However, because B+W is using the premium German scotch glass thus it provides more transparency than the HOYA HD. http://www.lenstip.com/113.4-article-UV_fi...nd_summary.html Btw, Hoya Pro1Digital has relatively same transparency as the B+W MRC but however much harder to clean (resource from depreview). The new nano coating sounds cool huh. But it is also 50 dollars different comparing the B+W MRC CPL USD130.50 vs. B+W XS-PRO Digital Kaesemann MRC Nano Circular Polarizer Filter USD178.50(In Australia not sure bout Malaysia). For 50 dollars(RM150) different, u get it slimmer and "MUCH easier to clean from "VERY EASY TO CLEAN" lol! U decide. Price based on international seller http://maxsaver.net/BW-Polarizer-Filter.aspx CPL and KSM CPL is two different type of CPL that B+W offered. Thus if u want to make the comparison, please do it equally =) Yet still dont have the decision either go for HOYA HD or B+W XS-PRO? |

i have a noobie question, and hope sifu's can advised me on this.
Nikkor 70-200 F2.8 VRI VS 80-200 F2.8 [Two Touch] - Which one is better compared one another? Based on mr google and ken rockwell, it seems that both are equally the same, execpt the VR thing. I remembered someone discussing this here (not remember which V), thus appreciate if anyone can advised me on this. - I've play around with 80-200 back at J-One when i purchased the 2470, the picture is quite sharp, not to mentioned the bokeh which is really superb. The only disadvantages (that i think) is just the noise when focusing, and also the NO VR on the lens. Never tried 70200 VR1 before, thus seeking for advise from the sifu's that have tried both lens or any source of findings. - Please put 70200 VRII aside at the moment, since the main question is comparing only this two models. Looking forward for Mr. Sifu's inside here's favorable reply. Rgrds. |

QUOTE(akachester @ Nov 14 2011, 03:19 PM) Thanks for the link. Its my D7000's kit lense (the 18-105). Wanted to know the repair cost first (if repairable) before searching for an alternative. I think its adviseable for you to go to the service centre, bring the broken lens, and ask them directly. since there's different charges depends on the 'broken' part. By sending it out, ask the rough estimate cost for it, then u decide. Just my sense. |
