QUOTE(CarlVlad @ Oct 22 2011, 03:25 PM)
Hi guys, I just got my D7000 back from Nikon PKNS for servicing due to bent aperture tab. I asked sensor cleaning service to go along since its free under the warranty. When receiving my camera, I only checked whether the aperture reading works properly. However when I was out for shoot last night, I only realized A LOT of hot pixels on my photos.

Will this need sensor replacement ?

I'm thinking if the sensor cleaning process killed a lot of pixels?

Am expecting the D3s replacement to be announced to go head to head against the Canon. Else if Nikon announce late, they are going to be in deep shit if professionals jumping to Canon for the new body next year for the major events.

Don't like the lighting from the event sad.gif

Yeap. I went to a shop in LYP, the shop last time quoted me RM3300 for both 50mm 1.8D + D7k, the day I bought my D7k, went to ask, the same person quoted me RM3550. I asked why and he said it's because of the flood in Thailand sweat.gif I went to the next shop and got both the items at RM3300 nod.gif That's what I call honest sellers.

Becareful when you guys are trying to get a new dslr now as those DSLR prices that come from Thailand are being marked up, either really due to the flood (I know Nikon factory in Thailand is closed down) or they are just using that as an excuse to mark up the prices.
*
Its normal. When demand > supply, price goes up. When supply > demand, then price goes down.

Well, if the flood remains longer can foresee those made in Thailand Nikon products definitely will be affected when stock is depleted.

I see, haha there is nothing to do with rule of third that I haven't even learnt bout it haha! Anyway I'll check it out and do more research and rules that i should bear in mind when i shoot portraits. The below pic is where I tried crop out the headroom... what do u think?

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

please advise  notworthy.gif
*
There is not exactly rules, as in you do this you confirm right or photo confirm nice etc. If it looks good, then its good! It all depends on you, the person behind the camera. Everyone has different style and taste, don't let those rules limit your creativity.

rm5(i forget the price) lens cleaning cloth can or not?
unsure.gif

i use it to wipe front element
*
Just get a lenspen, it goes for about RM20-25 only wink.gif Comes with a brush where you can brush off any particle then use the lenspen on your lens itself. If using a cloth, you need to make sure it is free of dust else you end up scratching the element.

QUOTE(mym123 @ Oct 23 2011, 06:02 PM)
i am new to this DSLR world and just bought D5100 3 weeks ago...read from photo mags that we can keep track of our shots by adding personal details to the EXIF data....is my D5100   have this facilities ? any link that i can go to for this urpose, tq..
*
What sort of personal details are you looking at? Photog name, copyright etc? Those if not mistaken only available in the semi pro bodies (and also D7000). But your shooting data will always be there, shutter, aperture, etc.

QUOTE(ikki9394 @ Oct 23 2011, 06:18 PM)
Hi thanks for the advise. I will keep that in mind. Apart from that do u reckon any post processing is needed to enrich the colour or something?
I bought a lenspen and a hurricane blower from ebay austrealia... AUD19 in total... so expensive   sad.gif
But i love online shopping in ebay tho... $1000 gst free threshold  tongue.gif
*
Post processing is subject, depends on you as well. Some like black and white, some like warm color tone, some like cold color tone, some like desaturated feel, some like saturated feel. It all depends what you want to showcase smile.gif Play around and eventually you will find your style... like for me I also have a certain color style I love using...

Eg,
user posted image
Angela by CY Pixels, on Flickr

Or warmer tone + brownish

And sometimes I prefer cold tone,
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Or maybe try to toy with specific color channels,
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

My advise, keep trying smile.gif when it is nice you will know it.

Added on October 23, 2011, 6:45 pmOh and sometimes, I leave it with the original tone.
