QUOTE(ken_ng @ Sep 23 2011, 03:50 PM) Please calculate your own on its normal dividend to get how much the yield.Never rely on any platform published figure. Including one off special dividend, is not a good way to gauge future dividend will be. |

QUOTE(othme @ Sep 23 2011, 04:12 PM) FedEx and Nike report profit increases. Besides that, many companies also reported better profit. But news still mention recession. I really don't understand liao The news mention recession, is fear of recession may hit in the coming 3-6 months time. Although it doesn't necessary must or not happen. Currently, Company still make big profit, but employment picture is not rosy. Company mostly cash hoard and not willing to spend, some also cost cutting, due to increase in materials price in order to maintain the profit. Most well run company has tons of cash. |

QUOTE(ngaisteve1 @ Sep 23 2011, 04:57 PM) glomac also almost every single day shares buy back and good quarterly days ago but share price tarak naik also. That's why I always said, a lot of time, share buy back won't support share price much one.I always against share buy back one. Use the cash and pay as special dividend or give better dividend, share price automatically "naik". |

QUOTE(nasni @ Sep 23 2011, 05:21 PM) one research hse said that telco stocks are quite defensive, I dunno whether to agree... Maxis is defensive, I kinda agree, but Axiata I personally don't agree it is that defensive.hence the only telco in my portf is Axiata (paper loss at 4% now), the rest parted earlier with profits especially maxis. what d'say u guys?? |

QUOTE(simplesmile @ Sep 26 2011, 10:50 AM) PANAMY nearing 18.00. Think it can go lower due to the less profitable product mix and higher costs due to Japan supply chain disruption The fear is not on this. The fear is economy slowdown, housing stagnation, eventually poor sales of electrical appliances. Electrical appliances sales is highly co-related to properties sector. |

Now, you see why I always reiterated that
it is important/better to have cash dividend in hand, instead the company use the cash to buy back. Whatever cash you are getting is net, won't disappear. |

QUOTE(yok70 @ Sep 26 2011, 02:54 PM) but i thought you said it's like 2008 now? then should have another big round of dumping coming soon? another -200 pts? You wait for the bottom?I certainly no good to guess or can get the market at the bottom. Spread it out a few tranche for those intend to buy. At least 4-5 tranche is recommended. |
