Panasonic GT series picture processor engine quite same to VT.

ST and GT use same anti-reflective coating panel.

Here the chart for your reference.

Correction:
ST model has 2,500Hz FFD (Focused Field Drive) and not 2,000Hz.

If color of your speakers match the rest, it will be perfect. Still nice setup and hope eye level placement is your priority.

Saw the Demo unit at KLIAV fair today (offering RM7,500 still no taker) and would say that the picture quality is quite good.
Location has low light and not much reflection noticed. Could judged based on the Avatar movie shown which I have watched many times.
New sets are offered RM7,999.

Friend of mine just bought the P65ST50 (bundled with 2 X 3D glasses) in Seremban at RM7,650 + RM590 for additional 3yrs extended warranty (total 5yrs warranty).

For ethical consideration, name will not be mentioned.

RM590 Extended Warranty by Panasonic Malaysia or from the so called "shop" ?
*
First 2 years, Panasonic.
3-5 year, must go through dealer under master warranty / insurance arrangement; like TBM.

It was from Arori Sdn Bhd. New unit was quoted RM7999.
Arori also sell wall mounts which is their specialty.

happy dog, im  biggrin.gif

looking fwd to its calibration after burn-in.

interestingly, hdmi2 has audio return channel capability, it can send digital audio out via an hdmi cable. thus, one can connect a new 3d bd player direct to the tv and use hdmi2 audio out to an older generation amp to play lossless codecs, nice.

Further update: I don't even know who I'm supposed to deal with when it comes to replacement: the dealer or Panasonic. Conflicting info from "Monday only check stock if it's available" to "Panasonic send a new set to you on Tuesday". As if I don't have anything to do but wait for them INDEFINITELY to deliver at home. rolleyes.gif It's like being in prison at home!

Remember folks, make awfully sure that your TV works fine before it leaves the lorry. Better still, draw a power extension cord from your house INTO the delivery lorry and test it inside there before you allow them to deliver inside your house. If the TV even moves inches out of the lorry, it's your responsibility (according to this experience) and anything wrong with it, you face this shitstorm I'm facing right now. Useless buggers.

Quoting myself on what I believe what SHOULD BE the area of responsiblity when it comes to consumer/seller's transfer of responsiblity with regards to purchased goods:
*
Understand the immense frustration of yours and always agree that Customer is always right; actually before sales is closed (in Malaysia).

Sounds like Carrefour (or Tesco) with 1 week one to one replacement policy BUT at your expense (see also note below) to deliver the same product for exchange; or so called within a reasonable time with no question i.e. even if a good product is returned after tested for couple of days etc. if product is unavailable for exchange, unless stated in your order, you have no choice but to wait for replacement unless there is such recourse / provision in the extended warranty you signed???

In the logistic world, when we receive packed product. it is a practice to state "Quantity / Quality Unchecked" i.e. within that reasonable time. A written report with supporting photograph would substantiate your damage claim, first with the Dealer and then the Manufacturer (via the Dealer as practice always) and not the other way round. To maintain long term business relationship, the Dealer will always bear the delivery cost. Irrespective of terms of delivery acceptance, if product does not performed as expected within specifications, the Dealer / Seller will be the first contact point to provide consult.

To find a Papa Mama store which honor such sales is a thing of the past & I never buy from such ciku store irrespective of discount!!!

Bro SteadyPana,

Could you share your best setting on your ST50 here?
Also, should I upgrade the firmware to be able to use the Viera Direct to access to internet?
Just got mine yesterday and breaking in now.

Thanks & Regards
Think I got one of the cheapest boxed new sets in Malaysia as per price posted earlier.

If you are on Budget and not a Gamer, go for ST50.
For a start, go for 50" which is around 4k+ or 65in 8k+

The experience and joy of watching movies (incl. 3d) on a plasma in a dark room is eyes friendly and beyond description; furthermore, it won't cost you a bomb.

Try previous model of the same TV e.g. Panasonic ST30.

I retained the setting in my Harmony Remote which was set for my previous TV i.e.TH-P50U20K and it works fine.
Press Menu and able to access to my ST50 Main Menu which allow all available options for selection.

I think its's QA problem. Such problems as my board A and Stringfellow's bluetooth problems should not be happening if they really checked before sending the completed sets to warehouse.
*
Anyone encounter patch (2-3 inches in diameter) of blurer / cloudy color on the ST50 when full color screen is displayed?
Especially when using full screen green color template; not on Red / Blue /Grey /Black color templates.
Have not try Yellow yet.

Location - Front panel where the connecting board for HDMI / Ports / cables are placed behind.

Hope is not another QA/QC problem; maybe not unusual or due to magnectic disturbance, etc.

See Panasonic FAQ for reference which state that:

"Due to production process involved in this technology this may result in some pixels which are permanently lit or unlit.
This is not a malfunction"???
