Apart from Viera Cast upgraded to Viera Connect, everything else remains the same incl of any calibration done earlier. So far so good ...

i expecting the 30k will drop further again if 38k is the confirmed new model for 2012...

April/May of this year the 30k price about RM3300, after 1 month drop till RM2999, later drop again RM2799...  sweat.gif
i worry another price drop another Rm100-200 next months from Rm2799 as the price oledi few months here...

anyway, my neighbour's fren's fren selling 30k RM2650, believe should be FHD model...
*
Going by Panny's past practice, the X38K is just a different version of X30K but still belongs to the 2011 family of models.

The 2012 models will likely have 40K in their model names if the naming convention continues.

Just like the 28K vs 20K, the 28K model is solely sold by Jusco (?). So, the 38K models are maybe sold by certain retailers?

how to do that? in option i think i already off it...
*
Your PC graphic card support HD output? With a HDMI port or using DVI port? Or are you using VGA connection?

If HDMI, check under display properties whether output to TV is 1920x1080.

If yes and still overscan, then the only thing left is your plasma TV Overscan feature still on. Check under Menu->Setup->Other settings->16:9 Overscan-> Off

Guys, is there a way to calibrate all the channels at once? Im using P42U30K. I placed the test chart from AVSHD709 to my pendrive and i adjusted the brightness and contrast.. then when i switch to other channel (hdmi1, hdmi2) i notice that those channel remain by default.

I know i can memorise the setting and adjust accordingly but is there a simpler way of making all channels the same?
*
Doesn't make sense. The input source are usually different e.g. blu-ray player, Astro, PS3 etc. Each source need to be calibrated differently because they produce different PQ/color.

If you insist them to be similar, you can always "copy" the settings from one input source to the others. I know the V20 has the "copy" feature.

Edited: So, since you used the pendrive via USB, you have just calibrated the screen for the built-in media player. If you put that pendrive via your blu-ray player, you have calibrated the TV for your blu-ray input. I hope that make sense.

You can also consider Samsung 51" D8000 3D plasma, which is direct competitor to P50VT30K, selling for RM7999.
*
Actually, the D8000 is more comparable to the GT30, if it was sold in Malaysia. It's not in VT's class according to a review and hence, the much cheaper price relative to the VT.

Mezzmo looks awesome! But it's not free. sad.gif Any free option like Mezzmo?

I don't have the snowing problem like yours on my Plasma.

Try using Windows 7 Media Player. Free DLNA server. Google for details of setting up the media server.

Personal experience: DLNA is difficult to configure due to the different formats available in the internets. But playing the standard avi (divx/xvid) movies should be OK. Photos (JPG) and music (MP3) is also straight forward.

Hi guys, is there any MAJOR difference of using the PC display port or the HDMI display port on Panasonic Viera when u using the pc plug to the TV?
*
No major difference. Both are digital. Your TV will most probably only take in HDMI. You'll still have convert from display port to HDMI using an adapter.

Would like to ask..for X models with 600hz motion rate compare to ST model with 2500hz motion rate. Do this really makes a big differences ? Other than that, i guess ST model is way better. I just want to know what a motion rate can makes a difference here.

In terms of price, really a big differences..50inch X model is around 2499..while 42inch ST model is around 3799. Need advise smile.gif Thanks
*
X model is HD ready whereas ST is Full HD+3D.

Refresh rates are only meaningful for LCDs and not plasmas.

WHy refresh rate will not impacted in plasma ?
*
Plasma technology is more similar to CRT i.e. shorter hold time. Hold time is how much time a pixel emits light during one frame period. LCD underlying technology has much longer hold times and that is what creates ghosting/motion blur.

One way to compensate for this motion blur: LCD doubles/quadruples the refresh rates and also using interpolation frames. Some people like it and some complain the motion looks artificial (soap opera effect). This topic is still hotly debated because different people have different perception.

You have to experience it for yourself and see what is your preference.

I hv yet to calibrate any 2012 Panasonics. Once I calibrate them, I will post my findings accordingly. However, I hv talked to fellow calibrators in the UK/US about the performance. The ST50 post calibration is value for money compared to the GT50/VT50. The filters are very close if not the same, the calibration controls are coarser but in can be calibrated well in spite of that. I might evaluate on for myself to replace my aging Pioneer 428XG just for the kicks. In my case I would probably add a video processor and I believe bring it up to the level of the VT (maybe - needs verification...)
*
You mean you can hack the ST50? drool.gif

Let us know how it goes. First time hearing this stuff.

May I ask, are there any Panasonic Plasma that are able to convert standard definition program from satellite and "upgrade" it to 1080 or something better? Or are there no such thing?
*
If your source is low grade, no matter what conversion (if it exist), the quality is only as good as your source. Garbage in garbage out.

Hmm ... I think youtube stores your settings by your login account.

Have you tried using PC to login youtube and then change your default language to English, save it.

After that, on the TV, try signing on to your youtube account and see if the language is changed?
