I am regret to buy the VT20K early this year, should wait for new model, since P50ST50K is damn cheap, with very good PQ.

QUOTE(Alan Yee @ May 7 2012, 08:32 PM) I can't commend on this since I personally not seeing the ST50K, but for sure, this year GT50K definitely better than VT20K, even VT30K. Do you happen to know the street price for unsold stock of VT20 or VT30? I think there might be some around, probably display stock. Thanks |

QUOTE(anfieldude @ Jun 23 2012, 09:39 AM) That it has. It has in my opinion a very good anti reflective coating that is as good or maybe slightly better than the 9th Gen kuro. So which 2011 model has the anti reflective coating? Thinking of picking up a bargain but anti-reflective is very important to me. And what's the expecting price? thanks |

May I ask, are there any Panasonic Plasma that are able to convert standard definition program from satellite and "upgrade" it to 1080 or something better? Or are there no such thing?

QUOTE(chungf1 @ Jun 30 2012, 03:04 PM) Panasonic GT series picture processor engine quite same to VT. Thanks. So G is higher spec than S. But Anti-reflection coating are the same. Is there a lot of price differences between the 2? I am thinking of at least a 55" or bigger. I don't mind 2011 modelST and GT use same anti-reflective coating panel. Here the chart for your reference. ![]() |

QUOTE(Poadster @ Jul 1 2012, 04:14 PM) Both the GT50 and ST50 are new 2012 models.... price diff is quite a lot, not very the worth comparing the PQof both models, even if its RM1000, for me la... i.c.ST is budget, GT is mid ranged, VT is top range... in price and in features n settings.... So which 2011 model has one of the better anti-reflective coating. Looking for 55" and above. Thanks. |

QUOTE(chungf1 @ Jul 1 2012, 05:57 PM) If don't mind last year model there is high end VT30 if you able to get price best bang for the buck. Thanks.GT and VT series will excel in bright living room when THX mode come into play. ST series in bright living room just nice only but in dim room performance pretty good comparable to last year VT30. On 2011 model. I need something at least 55". Only VT30 that fits that description would be the 65" and I am afraid it may be out of my budget (<5K). So how much is the 65" VT65? Alternatively, I might go for the 55" ST30 instead. How's the anti-reflective coating of the ST30? There don't seem to be any GT30. http://pmpressroom.com/products/Viera%2020...VIERA_G_Eng.pdf |

QUOTE(chungf1 @ Jul 1 2012, 07:14 PM) This year ST50 series did a job compare to ST30 big leap in Focused Field Drive 2500hz, color accuracy, deep black level, brightness increased, built in WIFI, web browser and the second generation louver filter is nicely improved so the black level is maintained slightly better this year when the room lights are on so the contrast ratio is acceptable, which is a welcome improvement over previous plasma generations. haha. May be I am cheap skate and go for clearance sales product. Would you say this 2012 ST50 is as good as 2012's VT? And how about price wise? ThanksSo why last year model ST30? For me plasma below 5k no doubt go to this year much improved Pana 55' ST50 series. |

QUOTE(Poadster @ Jul 1 2012, 07:26 PM) ST50 will never be as good as the VT50.... but price wise you are getting very good value for the asking price of ST50.... you cant beat the 3999 (50in) or the 5XXX (55in) of the ST50, esp its a built in wifi and 3D model.... Opps. Sorry. Wrong typo.I have personally viewed the ST30 and ST50 side by side.... the ST50 wins it in all aspects (color, black level, infinite black filter) and most importantly, price.... some outlets are still selling the ST30 at the same price as the ST50 as sold outside (3999).... Still, your money, your decision.... I meant, would 2012 ST50 be as good as 2011 VT30? And you mean the 2012 55" ST50 is RM3999? This post has been edited by Optiplex330: Jul 1 2012, 07:36 PM |

QUOTE(Poadster @ Jul 1 2012, 07:51 PM) Read chungf1's reasons why the ST50 is leaps and bounds better than the ST30... and yes, the 2012 ST50 is much better than the ST30... not the other way around... Sorry. I was asking about comparison of 3999 applies to P50ST50, the 50incher... Am curious, how much lower can you get the ST30?? I don't know 2012 ST50 2011 VT30 Is the ST50 as good as VT30? |

QUOTE(Poadster @ Jul 1 2012, 07:57 PM) Sorry, my mistake... Thanks.I cant compare them as I have never seen the VT30 in action, nor have the opportunity to compare them side by side... But.... if you can believe online reviews.... this writer reviewer have commented that the ST50 PQ is better than the VT30.... read it yourself.... Any idea which have better Anti-Reflection and just as importantly, upscaling ability? |

QUOTE(Poadster @ Jul 1 2012, 08:15 PM) I have seen UT50 and ST50 side by side.... UT50 dont have the Infinite Black panel (anti reflection and a louver design) as have the ST50, and the reflection is pretty bad on the UT50... bearing in mind the specs of both model is very close.... We got hundreds of channels here, all free from satellite. I would gues the VT30 dont have Infinite Black panel (as this is a new 2012 panel feature)... so the reflection could be as per the UT50..... my uneducated guess... You can try to view the ST50, beside the UT50, at AEON Mid Valley... then you tell us of the diff based on your perspective... On the issue of upscaling, there is nothing much the panel can do to improve details that are not there in the original source.... SD source will NEVER be upscaled to HD look by any TV or media player.... the best way to view these panels are using native HD or Full HD source.... Added on July 1, 2012, 8:16 pmOh... if your majority source are SD (TV, normal Astro), getting a smaller plasma (50in) will be better.... the bigger the panel, the lousier the SD pic will look.... |

QUOTE(anfieldude @ Jul 31 2012, 06:06 PM) The GT and the VT have additional controls (ST has 2 point greyscale/gamma, the GT/VT have 10 point greyscale/gamma, ST has 2D CMS for the primary colours, the VT/GT have full 3D CMS for all 6 colours). However, with the controls available the ST can be calibrated to meet the required specs as well. HiThe GT/VT also will have 2 additional modes that can be locked after calibration (ISF Day/Night). The ST is calibrated in the TrueCinema mode and cannot be locked. I am more interested to know whether the ST has similar level of anti-reflective coating as the GT/VT. |

QUOTE(sonerin @ Aug 4 2012, 09:17 AM) Yesterday finally can view the p65vt and p65st side by side. Well i have to admit the pq of vt is superb. Abviously the price is also pretty. RRP at RM16999. ST is still a very good choice to buy with RRP at RM9999. Very nice built for both. Need to check out promo soon to replace my old p50s10 How is the Anti-Reflective Coating of the VT vs ST? |
