i believe it use maximum contrast, not sure the purpose to warm up or just plain stupid..


ST50 model has pixel orbiter function which move the whole screen every few minits.
i find by keep the color tone in yellowish (not pure white) will lessen the chance

i use full screen blank wallpaper to check dead pixel.
usually main color lor, like red green blue yellow orange violet black white
if kena dead pixel, u will see a dot appear the wrong color

local set is analog station tuner, malaysia punya digital station not ready yet.

haha.. true i adjust contrast up for movie every once a while
let it run for 2-3 months and make sure no black borders at corner

sorry, i cant make decision for u.
if u buy this TV for mainly HD content and future proof, surely go for L50EM5K becos it is simple full HD tv.
beside that, P50XT is plasma tv. it is not easy to take care (very susah & leceh in fact)

i found the wifi adapter behind st50 it is removeable and can be attached to standard usb male-female extension.
bluetooth however use special kind of connector, so no chance to mod it


not confident with display set over 4 months usage unless u very friend with boss & shop keeper take good care of it

no plan to sell mine
actually i think coin battery is easier to maintain than rechargeable.
becos worry the recharge cycle become weak

just found out "backlight key" of tv remote can glow in the dark.

btw, did some adjustment to my ST50 to bring down red tint of True cinema mode.

i find myself best way to reduce 24hz motion judder on ST50 plasma is use PNR function (auto)

intelli frame creation=off for 60hz movie only
intelli frame creation=low is not effective enough, graphic pecah
intelli frame creation=mid is much better
intelli frame creation=high feel like fast forward, my eye cannot catch up

read around the good and bad of plasma first. go shop to find out is it really suitable?

myself is using this setting to ST50 too. it solved the over Red tone in true cinema mode.

i also apply the same setting to Normal & Cinema mode by changing the colour tone to Warm because they produce virtually similar with true cinema mode, except i lose colour management.
now i can easy switch 3 different contrast setting for morning (2.2 gamma), night (2.4 gamma) & eco (2.6 gamma)

btw, i found using aspect ratio "Just" is better than 16:9 in stopping judder and interpolation
especially for PS3 user who cannot change 60hz output except during Bluray 24hz playback

before this was terrible. now i can enjoy downloaded movie with "intelli frame creation" & PNR turn off
