the league is a marathon you don't win it by playing TWO matches and 36 friendlies every season

It's a big difference seeing how our 10-man lads play at home vs. how 9-man Chelsea players fighting...
Just where did Red Devil's fighting spirit and come back mentality went to? |

QUOTE(kiasunkiasi @ Oct 24 2011, 01:05 AM) It's a big difference seeing how our 10-man lads play at home vs. how 9-man Chelsea players fighting... i think that very same attitude la got us trashed.proof read the below....but im not saying its a bad thing.some times we just loose.there is no good loose or bad loose.just loose.why should a 6-1 be very bad when 1-0 also bad.its bad, its done, pts handed but not the trophy.Just where did Red Devil's fighting spirit and come back mentality went to? » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This post has been edited by mhyug: Oct 24 2011, 01:47 AM |

QUOTE(zenix @ Oct 24 2011, 01:00 AM) and how could that be called best league in the world eh LOLanyway, i'm still very much optimistic about this season. to be honest, we didn't play our best even in first half, can't say that was our best starting XI either, plus our defensive lining combination is still very much unstable due to injury hampering. I'd say City was not that great, with all respect to all City fans, IMO i think it was us who were self-destructing. at last, we have faced all the big 6 last season in this first half of the season, 3 win, 1 draw, 1 loss. City still have tough challenge with away matches against Liverpool and Chelsea and home match against Arsenal in November-December. Chelsea has just been defeated by Tony Fernandes' team, 0-1, with 2 red cards for bosingwa drogba and 7 yellow cards to other players, that's interesting ----------------------------- "Fletcher pointed to the sending-off of Jonny Evans just after the break as the game’s big turning point, but recognised that United were somewhat naïve in the way they approached the final part of the encounter. “We kept trying to win the game when it was conceivably not possible. Maybe we were a bit naïve and should have sat behind the ball and tried not to concede,” he added." that's where "experience" talks, fella, something that players like smalling, jones, welbeck, and even young don't have it yet, in last minutes of matches when the goals happened you'd find fletcher was even in deeper position than most of the defenders, when it was 1-4 that was the time when you should've thought game is over and don't make it even more bad, your trying has been justified by 4 goals and don't let supporters get more embarrassment. in positive way, it could be our turning point. Even SAF has said that but guess it's a lesson for the more inexperienced side anyway, i'm still very much optimistic about this season. to be honest, we didn't play our best even in first half, can't say that was our best starting XI either, plus our defensive lining combination is still very much unstable due to injury hampering. and if still want more, take a look at class of 92.none of those "kids" did the right thing early season.got cussed, crucified, and that all famous "you wont win anything with kids" and if any of you were already at a stage where you can remember things by then, we were trailing newcastle, big spenders by 10 pts at x'mas time.so you do the math by x'mas the league has played how many times...the rest is history and sweet memory for older heads.

"We'll come back. By January we'll be okay. We usually get the show on the road in the second half of the season and that will have to be the case," he added. "We've played all the teams around us and they have all to play each other so the second half of the season is important to us now.
"We will react, no question about that. It's a perfect result for us to react to because there is a lot of embarrassment in the dressing room and that will make an impact." Our gaffer also can be positive, as the fans we should follow the lead, shall we? |

we're the only team to have played all the top teams vying for the title and our position is still strong.
lets see how everyone else fare when they all complete one round. |

As i recall, City just face one big team so far, which is us right? They not yet play with Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool in their first half of season?
So there is good chance for us to chase back before Christmas. Furthermore, the real tough fixtures are around Christmas and New Year, which we need play 3-4 games in a week. So that the real time to test the squad depth and we shall see what happen that time. But one game at a time, we should concentrate on weekday Carling Cup ? and Everton away for the coming fixture. And lastly, class is permanent, form is temporary |
