anyone spotted a red colour light between the front camera and the earpiece? thought it was normal until my housemate played with my unit and told me that his doesn't have the weird red light.

Added on September 29, 2011, 11:02 pmbattery lasted about slightly more than 12 hours with 3g on all the time and about 30% brightness, have about 11% left now. I can see that android os accounted for 30% of the battery usage, is that normal or it means too many applications are using up my battery, i know about people saying how redundant task killer is, and i don't really use it too. But what about the services? some of which might sync data when working in background.
*
The red light is the proximity sensor infra red range finder working.....when you make a call it will light up....or if you test in using androsensor.

I use the advanced task killer to kill every 30 mins...stops crap like gameloft games from running.

But it's always lighted on my device, how come?
*
That should not be happening...have you tried restarting your phone and freezing any apps that monitor the sensor like androsensor?

The range finder can really drain the battery, that is why it only comes on in calls

what rom and kernel u using bro?
*
Running on stock KI3 ROM with stock KI3 everything. Performance is so much better on KI3. Earlier used TV out ( read a few posts before, just search for 'hour') for 1 hour and now battery left 21%......

To everyone else, my quadrant score is 4500+, nearly 4600 on 1.5GHz

Wanted to ask something, using A-GPS, I just have to enable use wireless networks right? I have disabled packet data and data roaming and wifi is off..........is it still working? some forums say wifi must be on and another website says it charges a little to use the data to get a lock...

u can use either wifi or Packet data coz A-GPS need internet connection to get the location from the server.
*
great, now I need to pay to use A-GPS when driving.....I thought it can use the cell towers to find out where we are? that does not require internet

just enable to get satelite lock. after that turn off and use the normal GPS.
*
Thanks for the suggestion, but I am not willing to pay just to find out where I am....I find that if you run the program in the same place that you last ran it, you can get a lock with 5 secs...
