Just made my own USB OTG adapter.....with a bare USB female head and a male micro-USB....
I wonder why the temperature of the phone rises like crap when the thumbdrive is plugged in, its like instant hotness.. does anyone else have this issue?

QUOTE(lolz1120 @ Sep 25 2011, 07:32 PM) thank you for the reply! also i have read that it is fine to leave your phone charging without having to worry about the overcharge issue? Because by the time most of us charge our phone it would be around the end of the day. So i can just plug it and go to bed? Another question about rooting if you guys don't mind. Does rooting mean you can have access to all the paid apps just like what jailbreak-ing does? Or it is just used to replace the touchwiz 4.0/ the current ui? Sorry for lots of questions, symbian-user here. Symbian user here too, still do use my n97...rooting allows the phone to do stuff that requires very low level system access....read page 1 for more info....no, rooting does not give you access to any paid apps, just access to the locked up part of your phone. The UI replacement does not require a root, use things like ADW and SPB Shell 3D This post has been edited by ashwin1234: Sep 25 2011, 07:37 PM

QUOTE(Gilthoniel @ Sep 26 2011, 10:06 PM) guys have u ever encountered this issue? a green line on camera screen when taking incandescent lighting photos... not all the time, but mostly when u aim at brightly lit areas... i'll show u 2 examples, one with, and one without... notice the left top corner... tried googling but can't find anything bt this... without... [attachmentid=2454976] with... [attachmentid=2454979] another thing... i notice that when the screen has colour gradients (dark to light, or vice versa) the gradient isn't as smooth on other screens i've seen... i'm a newbie when it comes to AMOLED screens so i don't know if this is normal? and of course the yellowish tint thing... hmm maybe i should go back to SenQ and see if i can exchange... i'm just worried the new set will also have the same kind of problems... the gradient cannot be avoided, because the phone runs on 16-bit colour space........if you put your comp into 16-bit colour mode also it will have the banding This post has been edited by ashwin1234: Sep 26 2011, 10:24 PM

QUOTE(Gilthoniel @ Sep 26 2011, 10:46 PM) So how about the yellow tint and the green thing on the camera? Added on September 26, 2011, 10:47 pmOk.thanks bro So how about the yellow tint and the green thing on the camera? Those look like hot/ bright pixels in the camera sensor....try taking a black picture with no light whatsoever and try taking another picture of something very bright, like the sky on a sunny day. It should be obvious in dark pictures only I think.....DSLR owner here who is happy not to face such problems As for the yellow tint, is it disappears at brighter levels, then don't need to worry. There is no guarantee that they will replace your screen.....even if they do, there is no guarantee that it would be any better than your previous one This post has been edited by ashwin1234: Sep 26 2011, 10:57 PM

QUOTE(Gilthoniel @ Sep 26 2011, 11:05 PM) Doesn't look like hot pixels coz it appears on the view finder but only when taking in those conditions Yea it disappears. Not keen to go change a unit and end up with the same defect but the camera problem is annoying Have you tried updating your camera firmware? run the apk and it will auto update and then you have to restart your phone...then try taking the picture again http://www.zshare.net/download/94607152dc18c46f/

QUOTE(mydragoon @ Sep 27 2011, 10:40 PM) I mentioned a few times before... GLU games... if you check permission requested... it starts the service when phone starts up. then it stays in background after that, even after kill, it will come back. GLU games are on my personal black list Easiest way out is use advanced task killer and make all other apps as ignored and autokill every half an hour

Wanted to ask all sifu here:
I already used titanium backup and backed up all apps + data. I want to upgrade to 2.3.5 KI3....I was considering the non-wipe version but many people here say better to wipe and start over then restore the APPS ONLY....where exactly can I find the option to wipe the dalvik cache? Currently rooted on KI2...so what would you people kindly recommend?

QUOTE(antt00 @ Sep 28 2011, 09:35 PM) I think update will still come. Samsung sold too many i9100 already to not support. But maybe just slower Thank you so much for telling me about the USB debugging setting for Titanium Backup..now I have updated to 2.3.5 and restored all my apps...... 2.3.5 is so much faster and smoother than 2.3.3

QUOTE(soulseeker6187 @ Sep 28 2011, 11:21 PM) LOL.can u survive the laggyness. Just kidding about the switching part....the phone lagged on the ori ROM, now I am on my 4th custom ROM and performance has improved so much, can even play 360p youtube straight through the browser (yeah, it has flash support now), and now doodle jump is available for it .... I set up the SPB on both my SII and my n97m such that they look very similar, so easy to transition between both
