GG ytd. luckily i had backed up my EFS using hellcat tools as per suggested by uncle benny. the signal jz gone totally and shows "insert simcard" even though i had rebooted for more than 3 times. then try restore efs using hellcat, still no luck. freaks me out totally, i'm at mlk dat time
then tried to restore the efs once again, and reboot. then oni everything backs to usual. strong recommendation to everyone out there who always flash roms: backup ur efs before its too late

I'm always use internal memory to store my camera picture..

lol coincidently after i posted that, i remembered noobi3's post about build.prop tweaks so i went and edit it ad, then see your reply, click the link, went back same page on xda    3g really improved? i'll check it out, i also increased my dalvik vm size from 64mb to 128mb, dunno it helps or not, hopefully it does. Smoothness wise, after adding all tweaks that i see related to smoothness, it really works, even my go launcher ex is quite smooth now

gonna try some of the init.d tweaks except for ram/memory managements later see it improves or not

somehow after flashed siyah kernel , i feel that when the apps drawer(the place that all our apps are in) going to Home is abit slower

can i tweak that ?

Did anyone notice Market problem? or problem in your Market Account here?

Mine having problem just a few min ago..I check through my phone, all installed apps missing and left those I purchased..
Then I use PC to view my Market Account..left very few apps record..and last time more than 2 pages..now only 1 page..some old uninstalled apps appear   

I'm back up with he'll cat too, and buf if can't detect skim card how can you run the phone and apps?

Btw, the backup is image file right?

actually im not so sure already about the bold statement after this afternoon.

this afternoon ,my phone was operating normally, Edge and just dabbling with the phone n smsing,watsapp, no others as i was waiting. but the heat was unbearable at teh upper right side of the camera...which i think if the temp goes up few more celcius, i think it can be described as scalding already ...i check the temp and it was merely 41c ! i then doubt the reading if it was accurate or not...i open the cover and i didnt lie to say i abit concerned if it'll explode, i switched off the phone =.=  sometime i wonder how the camera sensor not be damage by such intense heat placing so close to the procs.

normally when i game with wifi, it's not even hot, barely hot. i think around 40c only....

my point is that i feel the very hot situation is very erratic and unpredictable n usually very warm is during my light applications use.

secondly, i unsure if the temp gauge is accurate or not im using battery booster that works like juice saver n has battery lvl n temp together so i think better than n ive uninstalled the battery solo widget ever since.

thirdly, i think damages by overheating shud be warranted also right but i think so far, no such case reported just yet ya

over the weekend, checked out what's new on Samsung Apps.

i got prompted for some updates... installed them... then downloaded a few stuffs...

next day, i noticed i get some korean notification... *sigh*

it does not break android... but it does go to show android is still a long way to go when it comes to being an OS that had got high 'quality standards'...

lots of little issues everywhere... like what i highlighted previously...
* 15% min battery level for the camera apps to work There are workaround for this but will need rooting
* wifi sharing service (+1 more wifi related service) running in background even though wifi sharing is not enabled Never use wifi sharing so no comment
* unstable wifi connection to the point i need to off and on wifi for it to work again Never had this issue
* deleting a saved DRAFT message is not easy... no one click option. you have to empty the message by deleting word by word This is true but i never see it as a problem. You can just hold on backspace on swype and it will delete very fast.
* contacts in message will show ALL contacts (if you have multiple accounts -- regardless of what is done) Don't understand. I just type my contact name and it shows up after 2 - 3 letters. Never even click contact before
* nerfed gmail apps -- can't attach files other than images files FROM GALLERY (and MUSIC, i think). it seems it is possible to attach doc, etc... but it depends on manufacturer. I don't use gmail app.
* BT pairing with another android device can be painful -- dun have 'always trust and accept files from this android device' option. I thought got always trust function. Will check when i go back.
* Samsung kies -- nothing more needs to be said. I don't use kies. No comment.
* Samsung dive -- very similar to kies. super half-baked service/ product. thank goodness is free, though another way to look at it... we did indirectly pay for it.
* gallery seems to be 'picky' about the photos it wants to list. i have some photos taken on the phone before i installed the microSD card. after putting in the card, i moved the photos from the camera to the card. gallery has decided NOT to show them. to access the files, i need to use File Manager. Use quickpic. The best in the android world.
* outside of SGS2, you have things like core apps that dun work properly -- the new Market is a good example. It could not really update apps properly. Instead of 1 click to view your apps, the new apps requires 2-3 clicks. Agree. New market sucks. I am still using the old one until they improve it.

its really minor things... and most ppl probably won't even notice it. but still...

what are the differences between the notifications ringtone in message setting and an the normal setting -> sounds -> notification ringtone? are there any differences?

just put the phone on silent mode.

no need to root.
just install the free audio manager, allows u to adjust the system volume which also controls the camera sound.

just turn ur phone to silent like u normally do, and it sets all notifications, ringtone and system volume to 0.
but yea, u of cos need to turn the sound off if u want silent shutter...unless someone wants to write a script to turn the system sound off when u start the default camera app...else use some other camera app
