Why don't you perform System Restore in safe mode first?
Before installing updates, Windows does make 1 restore point for roll back.

Safemode is different.. if you can login window with "Enable low-resolution video mode" then just need to change back the resolution and problem solve. hmm.gif

To remove windows update you just need to open Control Panel>Program and Features and select "View installed updates" from the left pane.

Added on September 15, 2011, 11:03 pmUninstalling the updates sometime can brick your system, so try at your own risk...

2 more things to try before i run out of idea. sweat.gif

1. Enter SafeMode and disable your Display Adapter in Device Manager. Reboot into normal mode.

2. Enter SafeMode and run MsConfig and tick BootLog and OSBootInformation in Boot tab. Reboot into normal mode untill the blackscreen. Reset and enter Safemode again. Find filename ntbtlog.txt in C:\Windows. You can check what driver failed or you can attach the file here. hmm.gif

if it too much of a hassel to repair windows , why not just boot hirens boot cd, attach an external hdd, transfer all your data, and fresh install the os, all the tinkering around with updates and what not will will end up in an unstable systems if you manage to get it running again.

just my 2 cents ya ...

thats what im thinking.. SFC usually used to repair any corrupted startup file.. in this case if SFC also fail to analyze which file has been corrupted.. u need to back up and format
