good win nonetheless.

It's not just about Bolton played poor, its about how Chelsea utilized on their bad form.

I would not settle if Chelsea only won by 1-0 or 2-0 for this one, and they made it wink.gif

Drogba is lacking sharpness. Understandable.

I guess, that we can never have every players perform their prime all at once, which is somehow a good thing.

Mata is quite average tonight, probably because Lampard stole the show.

Drogba has Danny all over the place performing well.

Remember, 1 jungle can only have 1 lion. And in Chelsea, I prefer it that way. Or else we'll have a few Maloudas on the field tongue.gif

Good game, AVB is smart, letting Lampard sit on the bench making him more hungry to show his performance and now is what he got... great game, but still think that we letting in goals too easily...

Waste that is not Torres up in front as I think it will be an even better game...

be realistic. a 10-0? this ain't PES or FIFA you always play before a match to predict the real scoreline.

i know that bolton is on a bad run, but you should never disrespect the opponent. in the EPL, anybody can beat anybody, you should bear that in mind. coming to reebok stadium and to have a midfield to score hat-trick is a good achievement.

the only thing i didnt like about today's match is, after lamps scored, we seemed pretty relaxed and gave up playing already.

if we maintain the consistency as per 1st half displayed...i'm sure 10-0 is achievable ...in REALTIY too. cool2.gif

second half we a little bit relaxed...no urgency...unlike firsthalf....poor sturridge he cant get his hattrick...but a brace is a good achievement for a guy that just returned from injury...Capello !! Studge knocking the door...

there's no goal after Mata being subbed out.

n honestly, we've been average and Bolton in very bad form especially on the 1st half.

As I said, people will surely speak about Bolton terrible defense. But football, is a TWO sided game.
Bolton is poor, but we also need quality to utilize the chance into goals.
This is what we did. The whole team deserve every single credits for the 5 goals. This is the fact. smile.gif

Mata had a very very very quiet game. I have no idea why, AVB seems to give him a free role to roam every where. I actually prefer him to stick in the left position and offer more for Ashley Cole to overlap.
Ramires run into penalty box was good, but he always had a bad touch. He needs to learn from Lampard I think tongue.gif

It's quite surprise to see Meireles still stick with DM when Mikel is sub in. I really don't like him playing as DM, he has a huge talent to play as Attacking midfield. We'll see soon during big matches.

is it just me or lampard is more in advance role w/out torres?

and mata look below par w/out torres too.

and chelsea look more slow in tempo w/out torres.

and drogba seems lacking in sharpness.

unlucky for bolton. the result was quite flatter for chelsea.

I think that's a conundrum that will be solved in time. Lampard (because he takes up the striker's space in the box) can't function effectively with Torres around and the tempo slows down too.

Against teams like Bolton, we'll do fine. But if we were playing a fast paced, pass and move side like Barca, I wouldn't play Lampard.

We would need more verve, more dynamism. Mata alone isn't enough.

satisfying win is all i can say and this is what we're capable of when we take our chances. loved lampsy's hattrick as they all came from those trademark late runs of his, and great technique to beat the keeper for all three strikes. ramires has really got to spend more time training with him. drogba was a bit rusty but still managed an assist for our no.8 and he did setup studge for a 1 on 1. speaking of danny, his first goal was a neat header and the second a good example of how testing the keeper from distance every once in awhile, can pay big dividends. he really is turning into our very own hulk! had a subdued second half though.

cech deserved a cleansheet today, and its unfortunate how we just keep conceding silly goals. haih...i don't think petr will be happy with our defending thus far this season. mata looked a bit off colour, and i'm beginning to worry because he looked kind of tired. hope avb realises it might be time to blood josh into the team more consistently, because it would be disastrous if mata burned out for us and we had nobody capable of at least filling in.

we never really moved out of second gear the whole game, and for me that's actually a good thing. we showed we can turn it up a notch and cut bolton's defense to pieces when we felt like it, hence deciding to end the match as a contest in the first half. mikel had a horror moment when he miscontrolled the ball in our half, but besides that he was fine. btw, those who think it should've ended 5-2 for the ball which crossed the line, (kudos to ivanovic for making the best poker face any manager could ask for, when he nonchalantly smashed the ball out) all u need to do is recall boyata's free header. zat knight was offside and impeding terry when the freekick was played in, so boyata's goal shouldn't have counted. the kevin davies one was legit, so 5-1 was the 'correct' scoreline. although it still doesn't take away the piss poor standard of officiating that's been making the rounds.

my BIGGEST complaint is we seem to have loaned kakuta to the wrong team..yet again. bolton need to make their way up the table fast, or else i don't see gael getting a single minute of playing time with them. coyle is under pressure and will stick to his tried and tested squad. yes kakuta isn't allowed to play against us but he hasn't even been getting minutes prior to our meeting.

Overall it's a really entertaining 1st half, while the 2nd was so-so. Great to see Lamps getting goals again. International break this week, hopefully both him and Sturridge will be selected for the England game.
