The positive players:
Lampard- Did pretty well with some passes and fight to the end despite the penalty miss.
Josh-Really good, our best player in attacking play. Wrong substitution by AVB in my opinion, Romeu should come out instead of Josh.
Luiz- Impressive in attack, well timed tackle when we are playing high line. Abit clumsy when it comes to penalty box area though.
Ferreira-Very good in defense, should provide more in attack though.
Bertrand- Good in both attack and defense but should do better.
Turnbull- Very good! Major part of our victory.

Mixed bag:
Alex- Did two important tackles but unlucky to get sent off. A bit harsh for him.
Lukaku- His strength is unbelievable. Every thing he did as a target man is near perfect but when it comes to crosses, that's his weak spot.

Negative:
Malouda and Kalou- Oh my god, are these two guys are clones? In the 120 minutes, they were poor. I would say Malouda was poor but Kalou was terrible. They always like to delay their moves when they got the ball. Example, they got the ball, 1,2,3. Then only turn their back and move on. They always break the tempo. Damn. But luckily they scored their penalty, good penalty though.
Romeu-He missed a lot of his tackles that almost cost us. Need more match experience I think.

I have no comment on Terry, Cech and Sturridge.
Would like to see Luiz to start the Swansea game and Josh get some time.

Hmm, actually it was a knock at his back. But Cech felt a bit dizzy at HT so AVB sub him out.
AVB said he's alright to face Swansea though.

I disagree with the words saying Mikel is worse than Romeu. Romeu has the talent, but Mikel tackling skill is much more developed than Romeu. Not to mention Mikel ability to pass the ball to the fullbacks at the both flanks.

What I am worrying about our attack is, the lack of goals in our striker department.
All 8 goals we scored in Premier League was scored by ALL different players.
Terry,Bosingwa,Lampard,Malouda,Mata,Torres,Anelka Sturridge.
2 goals in CL from Luiz and Mata.
Only Mata scored more than 1 goal in any competition.

I wanna have a short analysis about the 11 goals we scored in all competitions.
Let's start West Brom, the second match of the season but this is the match we scored our first goal of the season.(Stalemate at Stoke). It's a victory against West Brom with 2-1.
Shaky start from us with Shane Long broke the lock at only 4 minutes in Stamford Bridge. Two Chelsea goals were scored by Anelka and Malouda. Goal by Anelka was a bit lucky, a huge deflection from the WBA defender. Finally a wonderful crosses by Bosingwa at 83rd minute to Malouda after Bosingwa rubbished 6 crosses from 9attempts in the first 82minutes.

Then followed by Norwich game. Result was 3-1.
Goals scored by Bosingwa Lampard Mata
This is the match which shows the lack of links up in our attacking build up.
The first goal which scored by Bosingwa was out of nowhere, involve no build up at all, but great shot by Bosingwa.
Lampard's goal was from penalty which earned by Ramires after a wonderful counter attack from the combination of him and Anelka.
Mata's goal was kinda same with Bosingwa. A mistake from Norwich defender and the ball dropped into the wonderful skilled Mata. But note, this goal involve no build up at all.

Next, Sunderland.
This is the first match which our scoreline never equal with the opponent.
2 goals from Chelsea first before Sunderland scored in last minute.
Goals scored by Terry and Sturridge.Shaky attacking play by us again.
Terry's goal was scored in corner after few attempts was blocked by defenders and goalkeepers. The ball was deflected a bit before it went into the net.
Cheeky backheel by Sturridge after a simple build up by us. Sunderland caught out of position, Meireles got the ball and send a wonderful timed long passes to Sturridge.

Okay, if you're reading until here, you deserve a rest now. So, 7 goals scored in 4 matches, sounds not bad yeah. But, only 3 goals involve build up. Malouda in West Brom, Lampard penalty in Norwich, Sturridge in Sunderland.
This shows the lack of link up in opponent half. Best link up might be Anelka to Ramires in a counter attack. Otherwise, passes by Meireles and Bosingwa were sent in nearly from the half line.

Then, Bayer Leverkusen. This is an important match for us to look into.2-0.
Goal scored by Luiz and Mata. And this is kinda important, both goals were assisted by Torres.
If you're reading from the beginning until here, I am sure you heard me whining about the lack of link up in our build up. And, this is the match we showed our improvement.
Luiz's goal was a very good one. Torres did his central forward job perfectly. Got the ball, lay off to Luiz.
Second goal from Mata was the best build up from us. A beautiful one-two with Torres and Malouda before Malouda passed the ball to Torres. Torres controlled the pass well and unselfishly passed the ball to Mata.Perfect pass by Torres and no mistake from Mata to make his second goals in Chelsea.
This is what I want to see in our attack.

The last match is against Manchester United. I don't think I need to talk much about this. The scoreline was a bit... not right? lol. We deserve more than this.
Torres scored his first goal of the season. I don't care the miss. Lol. I sound so bias but he did improve a lot.
Torres had as many shots (6) against Manchester United as his other four PL games this season put together. HUGE improvement from both midfield and striker departments.
22 shots in Old Trafford was phenomenal. Not every team can do this. If only our finishing was better, we surely have won that game.

Oh my god, I am sorry for the word 'short' analysis.Obviously it's not short at all laugh.gif
Give yourself a clap if you're reading right from the beginning to the end! tongue.gif
Remarkable match was Bayer Leverkusen which we showed our improvement the most in build up.

Today against Swansea! I want to see improvement!

No chance for him to stay on the pitch. A straight red in my book.
Silly tackle really.

Torres will miss Bolton Everton and QPR. Then return against Everton in Carling Cup.
He still can play against Valencia and Genk in CL though.

Great goals scored by us.
Torres goal- Brilliant pass by Mata.
Ramires goals- Good run by Cole and what a pass from Torres. Good finish by Ramires. Second one, good ball control and great finish as well.
Drogba- icing on the cake, he got the confidence, he got the quality, and he got his goal. Simple!

Mikel did his defensive job BRILLIANTLY. But have to admit, he slows down the tempo sometimes. He need to make more VERTICAL passes in a shorter time instead of holding the ball for too long.

I believe he will comes good.

chilli, we played 433 with two players from midfield moving forward. The centre one, who is oreo(ah, I love this name kerplunk tongue.gif) plays a defensive role. Sometimes he will get involved in attacking play though. It's the dynamic of the formation. You can see the players switching their places sometimes smile.gif

I never watch them play, but they just hold Barca with a 2-2 result recently right? Barcelona. Hmmm.

Oh yeah, Torres should start. He played 38minutes only! Fresh fresh tongue.gif
Lampard should start ahead Meireles.

Mata Torres Sturridge
Lampard Mikel Ramires
Cole Terry Alex Bosingwa
Cech

Josh is still too early to play, might get some minutes though.

With Torres confidence is building, I don't think it's suitable to start Torres along with Drogba. This might ruin everything and if the worse thing happens, Torres need to rebuild his confidence all over again.
It might be a bit risky to start without Mata, but we must try this, it might be not this match but soon, we will surely encounter the days without Mata.
I don't think we should start him, remember what happened to Torres when he started against Liverpool?Booed every time he got the ball, punched by Agger in the face, the pressure was damn high for him to handle. In my book, this is the worst decision made by Carlo during his days in Chelsea. All the difficulty that Torres faced was caused by that. That's my opinion.

So I don't want the same thing to happen on Mata again.
Torres
Malouda Lampard Anelka
Mikel Meireles/Ramires
Cole Terry Luiz Iva
Cech

Josh can come on for Lampard, Mata come on for Malouda, Sturridge come on for Anelka.

Superb video, glad to see Mata enjoying his life here.
Love how he said "When I scored the goal, waaaah" laugh.gif
Very very awesome!

And, AVB speaks 5 language! OMG. Unbelievable guy. Torres is doing his job pretty well huh? tongue.gif At least Torres can speak Spanish with Mata now smile.gif

So, half time 0-0. As expected, tough game but interesting game. Had some points jotted down:

-As usual, Ramires did some really well attacking run with the ball.
-Malouda always lose ball in final third. It's like he will lose it most of the time, 80%.
-Mata on the right infront of bosingwa? Ah no AVB, both can't really defend. You can see how Valencia keep on attacking on our right.
-How many times is Torres being ignored by teammates? Lampard and Malouda are the villains here.
-Lampard attempt to make passes were kinda poor.

Meireles or Anelka sub in for Malouda?

Can't believe my eyes! The finishing is super top class.

-Torres is doing his job perfectly. I seriously cannot complain about it, was unlucky not to score, but great saves by Valencia keeper.
-Look, Malouda on the right, Mata on left, then we got the goal. They both should try more inter-switching.
-What the hell with the green laser?

Malouda will be very surprise to see him staying on the pitch. I don't know why AVB sub Torres out.

You see, Kalou ruined everything. Oh well, I would like to put the blame on AVB too.
How on earth Malouda still can stay on the pitch and Torres off for Anelka? These are jokes.
