AVB response is a bit worrying. He's a bit stubborn really. I want Luiz to play in DM/CM but not CB. Oh man. High line doesn't work every time AVB.

Would like to see how he respond in Champions League after the defeat.

Mikel was offensive playmaker for nigeria youth team before joining us.
Thats why his passing is good when providing final pass( he made 1 on 1 chance for Torres in swansea game) , but seems to be out of ideas when given deeper holding midfielder role.
Anyway, good luck to the team tonight.  Gonna watch Malaysia and Chelsea game even though got SPM tomorrow tongue.gif

Never see Mikel play as a offensive player before, like really never. He was a bright midfielder isn't it? I remember Ferguson actually fight for him too.
Good luck for your SPM tomorrow too smile.gif

Nah, just a stupid rumour. We seriously cannot continue sacking managers like this. It's not healthy for the club. Youth system never work.
AVB is a young and bright manager, it takes some balls to take over this Chelsea job especially when the club's seniors are aging. After Mourinho left the club, no manager actually tried to change the style of play because what Mourinho left was all gold, but as the time goes, what Mourinho left slowly fade away. The ability in the seniors like Lampard, Terry, Drogba are fading away, and quite a lot of players left too(Ballack, Joe Cole, Makelele). It's hard to stick with Mourinho style of play, and it's even harder to change it.
That's what AVB is doing now, I am giving him some time. January window, we shall see.

Anyone think that our midfield are just fxcking useless? Only wide men are functioning. Lampard, Ramires and Meireles did nothing, nothing at all. They should've exploit the space in the midfield that Bayer left there.
Oh my god, the players, the manager, the whole club is clueless now. Oh, I am clueless now too.
God damn it, I am enough with this defending.

Malouda actually played very well, then we were playing 4231. Somehow AVB sub Mikel in, we became clueless, we became useless than ever.
The question now is not the substitution, but we started every game badly. The midfield is just terrible.
Oh well, the Mikel sub was stupid when we are fighting for a win.

i think we do not have much communication in midfield compared to the days when Ballack, Deco, Lampard and Essien was playing.

instead, now we have Mikel, Lampard, Ramires. i do think that Ramires is an awesome player, but in a 433 formation, he doesnt control the pace of the game. which is why when Malouda drops deeper, we can see the team controlling midfield more. i think the likes of Josh and Romeu would be more suited to play with Lampard because they are players who dont rush the ball forward at every chance they get. 433 isnt the winger system and we cannot play the winger system because we do not have wingers!

Oh my god, this sum it all, madfag.
It is not like I don't like Ramires, but he isn't doing the job he supposed to do. When Ballack play in that position, he controlled the game perfectly, but Ramires failed to do it. That's why I prefer Meireles than Ramires in that position. I think we should really try Romeu in DM position instead of Mikel. Mata as a focal point should be perfect.

Very good result, nice to see Romeu started the match!
I love the midfield setup, they pressed every ball, gave pressure to Wolves midfield. Wolves always have not enough time with the ball and they don't even have the quality to pass some magic ball forwards.
Have you guys saw the half time statistic?
Meireles was the player who had most distance covered on the pitch.

Ramires and Meireles done their pressing job perfectly, Romeu was cool and calm, controlled the match very well. Drogba had a great game, I love how he drag the marker away from penalty box to create space for Sturridge to score his goal. That's what a forward man should do.

So, here's the question again, should we start Lampard? This is really hard. I am very delighted with Ramires and Meireles performance, but if Lampard can press the ball like Ramires and Meireles did, he deserves the spot.

I think Anelka is leaving our club, he even left out by AVB when the trip to Germany last week. Heard some news that AVB hinted that he's leaving too.

Carling cup
Lukaku
Malouda Lampard Sturridge
Romeu Josh
Cole Iva Alex Bosingwa
Cech

We made a mistake by fielding 433 with only Mikel holding the 2 liverpool midfield. That cost us. So, I fielded a 4231, so we have 2 pivot holding the 2 liverpool midfield while Lampard can go forward more comfortable.

I will give Mata, Ramires, Luiz a rest.
Ramires ran really a lot last game, we need his energy preserved for future packed fixtures.
I think Sturridge wants more game, I will let him to play this.
Josh and Romeu in the pivot should be interesting.

Ok, well, another defeat. We lost to every big teams now. Every single one.
I didn't watch the match, but. I am so pissed to look at the result. TWO-NEIL LOSS AT HOME.

Gravityfield made an important point there, pick a team that can play as a team, not based on individual efforts. We have been lack of comunication and link up in our play. You can clearly see the players were clueless sometimes when they see their team mates pick up the ball. They have no idea when to start the run, which direction to run towards or where they should run to. They're completely clueless. Especially the midfield.

I didn't watch the game, but looks like Lampard was a bit disappointing huh? After dropping Lampard against Wolves last week and grabbed an impressive 3-0 win, we should play a midfield of Ramires Romeu Meireles against Newcastle again this week.oh wait, I think it's a bit harsh to criticize Lampard before I watch the game. I might change my mind after watching the replay tongue.gif

AVB had played all so called good young talent that should replace current first team by fan like Josh McEachran, Lukaku and Romeu, but stillĀ  wink.gif

Romeu was brilliant, best Chelsea player on pitch I think?
Josh was a bit unlucky with his injury, got not enough chance to prove himself.
Lukaku, hmm, gotta admit he still got lot to do.

krk, you're crazy.
Eh eh, MU lost 2-1 to Crystal, sack Ferguson?

It's cool that krk don't want Roman's money that earn us so much trophies and success.
Oh well, I think the recent loss is good to filter out all those 'so called loyal Chelsea fans'. They might go and jump on City bandwagon tongue.gif

I just watched the replay. We were playing a 4diamond2. Oh wait, we never maintain the shape for whole match. We were totally out of shape, the players don't even know what shape were they playing. Clueless number 1.

Then, we were playing high line, but look at the midfield. They were not pressing at all. Their off the ball movement were extremely terrible. Lampard was good in passing but his off the ball movement, his pressing, was not good at all. Lampard never been a pacey player, but he have to do what he should do in that position. Not to blame Lampard only, but our pressing was terrible. Clueless number 2.

Then, Lukaku playing with Torres, who wants to be infront? Who's going to run wide? No strikers were pressing the defenders?Clueless number 3.

The problem with playing Lampard is, we can't make the best out of the another midfield partner, and it's normally Ramires. We can clearly see that when Lampard play, Ramires actually turn into some kind of anonymous player on the pitch. He ran like headless chicken, had no idea, no clue. But when Meireles plays alongside Ramires, both players were actually good. They press, they pass, they go forward, they did whatever they should do as midfielders.

Romeu was brilliant, he's much like Sturridge, young, talented and very confident lads. True gem!
It's easy for me to choose the first eleven against Newcastle, very easy. It was crystal clear after Liverpool match(perhaps this is the blessing in disguise?! tongue.gif)

Mata Drogba Sturridge
Meireles Romeu Ramires
Cole Terry Luiz Iva
Cech

We need to get back in form, I am quite worry about Valencia game actually.

VS NEWCASTLE, I hope this formation:-

4-2-3-1

          CECH

IVA  TERRY  LUIZ    COLE

    ROMEU MEIRELESS

DANNY  RAMIRES    MATA

          TORRES

Extremely nice one. but Drogba should start ahead Torres. Drogba showed some good signs in recent games.

dynames, gotta agree with you. That's the only reason to start Torres. But I won't say Drogba is not in form, he did extremely well against Wolves despite not scoring or even not shooting at all. He dragged the marker away from penalty box to create space for our wingers, he press, provide physical presence.

With our team not settled yet, starting Torres might be risky. Media headlines might turn out to be "Torres blank again', poor Torres really, such a huge pressure to handle.

I will still go with Drogba.

3-0 win is extremely tasty, especially when you have low expectation.
Best performance so far this season, better than Bolton I would say. The spirit, the attitude, the ambition etc, everything is very positive.

First, I will give my credit to....
Terry, no? Sturridge, no? Drogba, no? Kalou for scoring the second goal!no.

ORIOL ROMEU.
Definitely the man who changed our slump into winning ways. I can't believe how important is he to our team. He is more important than we thought.

I am satisfied with everyone performance today. Manager, the players, everyone else! The defense can be improved though, Luiz's foul might just cost our game. Lampard might just be our non good player tonight(He's not bad, but he's just not good enough if you compare to other player, that's why I called him 'non-good' laugh.gif)

AVB's substitution are just perfect, Kalou's performance was so so but at least he scored the second goal! Meireles and Torres sub provide great energy in front rather than sticking with tired Mata and Drogba.
