ok , i make a point. I got abit "over-emotional" on the ranking part. Maybe its because, once before in my class. I wasn't THE BRIGHTEST[I] star. I got a 35/40 for a test, and ka-boom 21 students in the class got 40/40. I was almost the lowest in the class and i thought i did well. ironically, the class had 25 students who were on Scholarship. It was quite a depressing moment. Frequently, i would hear them talking about rankings(they were in it anyway) and 100 marks and all those geeky stuff, which you know you yourself would like to try but always fall short. My fellow peers were also sick of them, just that they're not here in this forum they cant share the same way i did.

the intake is on 24th? thats a Saturday.. sounds abit weird. If there's absolutely no way for you to make it on the 25th, then come on the 24th, go where you have to go, if there's nobody, ask somebody somewhere there, when it really is. Then , here's the only thing i can think of, there is a hotel called "Residence Hotel"within the grounds of uniten, its fairly easy to find along the main road. You may have to stay there for the night, then begin the next day. The other choice i have for you is, skip the orientation first day, and go immediately on day 2. You will be faced with alot of difficulty and complications on your attendance, your accommodations for example, but you'll still be saved from being dumped. This however, is a high risk alternative, should the admin change its rules and policies for late students. i would say, tryyyy your very best to make yourself available on both weekends, if not, choose to go 24th and find somewhere to stay temporarily.

it does seem to be fixed. maybe not fixed, but unpredictable. you might not get what you want eventually. with not even enough apartments available now, the freedom of choice is definitely limited.

it would be fantastic if you could bring a bicycle. Walk is actually the better choice now ,especially in the mornings, as the student council of the previous term successfully won a proposal to build shaded pedestrian pavements around the campus grounds. The boys hostel is very very far to walk. and its not exactly fully shaded walkways, (well by trees , yes). anyway, its still more reliable than the buses. The buses are NEVER punctual. They're either too early, or too late or sometimes, Missing In Action. Some purists., put the fault on the students themselves being late to the bus stop or such, well, in this case, even if you'r'e punctual, you'll still miss the bus sometimes. They're the most unreliable thing on Earth---> Uniten shuttle bus.

every day from now till 24th, try and make somebody answer the telephone call, and seek explanation. I doubt they would dare leave their Customer Hotline, unattended more than 2 days. If its really the case nobody picks up your phone call from now till 24th, well...... I have nothing to say, The admin has too much win.

i kind of find it hard to explain in words here but i'll try my best. The apartments have standard 4 rooms in one unit. Each room is a single room. But starting next sem, there will be 2 rooms out of 4 the rooms in each unit, that will become twin-sharing rooms. they will somehow... have 2 beds in them, (probably bunker beds). With 6 people in one unit, obviously the environment gets more crowded, thats why, the remaining 2 single rooms in the 6 a unit apartments are slightly cheaper.

are you therefore, suggesting, that we sing songs of praise and heap worships of our dear uniten, while, the admin continues to run their mafia game on the students, and suddenly we will put the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to shame? don't be daft... The process would be, once the admin realises students are turning against them, they should know something is not done right, they should try to change and improvise THEN it becomes a better university. If they remain ignorant , then the university goes down regardless of how graciously the students would praise of them. Take Albukhary University in Kedah as a good example and warning for this university's administration. I dont fault students here for loving their university so much. But , this system needs an overhaul otherwise, this university isn't gonna be able to keep up with the very best in the future.

They let us know a rough idea of the uni's finances. this had me asking, IF YOU're a student you should've been in the student council page on Facebook and seen it yourself, but you sound like you didnt. You seem to be trying very hard to cause unnecessary friction here too even from earlier posts. So i won't want to dwell further. But point be proven, i dont see anything wrong with my mindset. I am out to make the difference which would hopefully, saves the students from encountering a potentially disappointing undergraduate program. As my bit of trying to talk like you, your friend studied there, your brother studied there, your cousin is a lecturer in uniten, so you don't have any other contacts at any other university at all..? and you speak as though you're a living legend of wisdom on the "improvements" this university is having? Ok, tell me then, i'll be heading into final year sooner than you. I've seen/heard info that no more multinational company representatives attend uniten students' final year presentation. There used to be in the past. Clarify on that , and do you think that is called improvement?

Oh yes, uniten is a young university..? MMU is established 2 years after uniten did (and lets not forget we're not even bringing IKATAN which was established even earlier into this argument at all), UTP was established in the same year as uniten, Nottingham Malaysia is in 2000,.... never mind, i might not even finish if i continue. And MMU has always been comfortably ahead of uniten, UTP just successfully passed us last year, so only Nottingham which itself isnt doing too good either, is still behind us. So , as being i believe you said you're a budak foundy, maybe you've got a lot more learning to go, before you can speak wisely. [Note, i DID NOT compare with say, myself , so this is to stop you from further raising the tempo of this unnecessary argument]

i would not be surprised if you were actually an admin staff yourself. You seem to be trying very hard to defend the university at all costs and curiously, you popped up right after i did, to what..? bury the fury..? Nevertheless, i hope my points make students who are unclear of where to go for their higher education, clear, that uniten is not recommended . As for new comers who are already devoted to coming in uniten, you either take it or leave it, please dont unfairly accuse me of shattering you in anyway. i just happen to be here, near your intake arrival unfortunately.

i enrolled in foundation, so i only needed to show them the SPM result slip. the SPM cert itself i only received 1 year later, so the result slip will do. Do u have a result slip/statement for stpm/A-levels..? if you do, bring that first. not compulsory to bring the original cert. These original stuffs are usually needed when applying for scholarships not for enrolment. i think you can hand it to them anytime afterwards, of course, earlier=better . If you forgot, they will call you to submit so no worries.

LOL.. yeahh.. typical simple formal will do. And as for orientation itself, wear what the facilitators advice you to, you come out with something else, be prepared for shame. Fashion runway doesnt happen here indeed.

there IS ONCE, in semester 2 2013/2014, when a system problem caused some students to be able to draft our own timetable. hahah. I was one of them. lolol. But i cant choose lecturer coz i dont know whose teaching which section. i only get to choose timeslot. The main rule when arranging your own timetable. No 8am classes, no night classes and definitely no Friday classes~!!. But sadly, its not happening anymore now.. haizzz..

ehhh. COIT adaaa.. go lepak there and you can see some if you're lucky.
