A classical guitar looks like this : An acoustic guitar looks like this : Classical guitar uses nylon strings while Acoustics uses metal strings, just ask any music shop owner's either you want strings for acoustics or classical, you can ask them to string it for you too I think

Kapoks are weird, kinda of a hybrid i guess, body, head and the fretboard are more similiar to a classical while using steel strings at the same time. My suggestion is to stick with whatever type of strings it came with as my brother tried to string nylon to the old kapok guitar and it nearly tore off the bridge.

No idea whether the bridge tear is due to old age or nylon strings change but the lady assures me its the latter, so up to u to decide lah, but the kapok did survive a nylon strings change and back to steel strings again though Pretty good for a RM80 guitar eh. And oh, i think my bro bought the guitar in form 3 (age 15) and now he is 26.

Kapoks are best left stringed with steels.. The cheap/stiffer bracing and wood won't resonate well with nylons

Its all up to the individual lah. Personally i am looking for a warmer-ish tone, so i prefer nylon over steel, but nylon doesn't fares well in strumming, and steel strings doesn't fare well in fingerpicking. Nylon are easier on the finger than steels but doesn't train ur fingers.

QUOTE(eunice lee @ Sep 29 2014, 11:18 AM) Anyone selling their used kapok guitar? Why would you want to buy a used kapok guitar when you can buy a new one for around RM120. (or maybe less)
