See ur budget lah. Rockford got 3 different lineups in their product range now, namely Prime (amateur), Punch (Pro), Power (competition level). Depends on ur needs lah. If u're going for SQ setup, u can forget about the woofer altogether as the speakers alone from Punch series can provide enough bass already. But if u still wanna go for woofer yet dun wanna hurt ur wallet that badly yet, I suggest u to go for Prime series.

A 6.5 inch Prime series speakers with tweeter & crossover set costs around RM 1200.

12 inch Prime woofer can easily set u back for ~RM 700-1000, depending on which woofer u choose & enclosures. There are 2 types of woofer, Slim & Standard. The slim ones saves space, but loses a wee bit of bass quality.

A 4-channel Prime Amplifier costs around RM1100-1400.

Not including fuse box, wiring/RCA cable & installation fees, which may amount up to RM 300-500 extra (depending on quality).

With the said equipments above, u're looking at a front crossover & rear woofer setup, each using 2 channels from the amplifier.

Mine Punch series.. The 6.5 with built in crossover costs RM 2.2k new.. Standard 6.5 inch RF Punch speakers on my back doors & rear deck RM 1k per pair.. Amplifier 2 channel RM 1.9k..

Can wan.. Lagi u never Kena toto, Lagi bigger the chance for u to kena jackpot.. Provided u got buy lah..

Shorty's 599 package as seen on our member MovingMachine's ride provides a tad too much bass lah.. Good for Ppl who love bass lah.. But clarity not so..

2k possible.. But dun expect much lah.. U want a decent setup, spare aside around RM3k.. Then u'll get a decent woofer, amplifier & front component set..

I agree u shud go for front speakers first.. Cos if u're the 1 driving, of course speakers in front make ur ears more syok ma..
