Planning to bet on AAPL's earning. Long PUT, willing to lose all premium (1/4 profit from recent gain of AAPL's and GLD's tank) should it goes otherwise in exchange of unlimited profit smile.gif.

Dear guys n gals, need your help on confirmation. Trading in and out frequently, the profit gained is considered as Capital Gain right? So need not to pay any tax and need not to file any tax right? or it's taxable based on tier basis?

Dividend which is an Income Gain is taxable? Thank you notworthy.gif

QUOTE(danmooncake @ Apr 16 2013, 07:28 PM)
For US stock and if you've filed W8-BEN
a) Yes, NO tax on cap gain for non-us residents who is NOT physically presence in US more than 183 days in a year.

b) Yes, they will withhold divi earned (up to 30%) but you can claim back by filing 1080NR the following year, lowest effective rate is still 15%. No tax treaty between US and Malaysia exist, so tax rate reduction divi for Malaysians does not exist.

Thank you.

how does the forecast of earnings work?

Let say initially it was projected to have $1 gain per share but upon reaching the earnings announcement like 1 more month, the outlook wasn't look good and revised down to $0.70.

During announcement, the earnings was $0.85. The stock normally rally? though it's higher than newest projection but lower than previous? Both projections are with forward looking.

Irony? the stock rally if the latter is true, I can just purposefully revised downwards so that it can hit the target easily? sweat.gif
