Wow... a GTX660M which was previously rumor to scored P20000-P21000(better than the GTX580M) on 3DMark Vantage! drool.gif

http://forum.notebookreview.com/8021843-post1.html

Even a 650M also slightly scored better than the GTX580M if looking at the rumor... running in a cheap USD899 laptop! sweat.gif

If the benchmark scores is true, my SAGER will just be another simple laptop... cry.gif

Pls also update the Budget gaming Laptop for Acer V3-571G.

Acer M3 should be using the kepler GT640M as per the benchmark in notebookcheck.

Acer V3-571G still not out yet. In china, it will pair with GT630M. Just wonder we will get GT630M or GT640M?
Hopefully it will pair with kepler GT640M.

Since AMD and Nvidia are rebranding some of their old GPU to 7XXX or 6XX, suggest to state the new GPU as belows to avoid user trap in their rebranding tactic.

Nvidia new Kepler gpu, GT640M LE(kepler), GT640M, GT650M, GTX660M
AMD new GCN gpu, HD77xx upward.

Refer this link for info

Based on the pricelist I've seen from a distributor, the V3-571G do come with GT640M.
Just not sure whether it's Kepler or Fermi.

Just came back from PC Fair and tested out quite a few ultrabooks.

Also, not too happy about the Acer M3's build quality. shakehead.gif

The 14" Toshiba U840 is something to look out for! Looks pretty good, feels excellent. thumbup.gif

The base model comes with a 500GB HDD with 16GB SSD is RM2999. Add RM400 more for a 128GB SSD.

But biggest problem with pretty much all ultrabooks now is the very shallow key travel.
*
Yeah, it does look pretty good... in pictures.. biggrin.gif (haven't seen the real one).

Guess it's normal for thin ultrabook to have those kind of keys. sweat.gif

I'm running it with a Cooler Master Notepal U3 cooler pad, and it runs pretty cool. Haven't tried running it without one. It has very few vents and they're small, especially for the processor hmm.gif.

I'd take a picture but I'm using it now.
*
Try gaming on it for god sake. tongue.gif
i7 Quad and a GT640M, it's a waste not to try.
Atleast share with us 3Dmark11? brows.gif

Did you received the free Acer Designed BackPack?
How was it?

Except LG P330, nothing seems good for now..
11.6'' wise, there's the Clevo W110ER, up to Core i7-3612QM and GT650M..
*
+1

Heard they will come out with a new one with the GT650M to replace the current GT555M. hmm.gif

Clevo W110ER sure is a great piece. If only they could release 13" version, and a bit lighter(current 11.6" weight 1.8KG). drool.gif

Hell, an 11" with those specs at 1.8kg? So worth it compared to the much heavier M11x laugh.gif
*
Hahah... Been getting too demanding on the weight these days, especially after seeing soo many good upcoming ultrabook(especially 14" Gigabyte U2442 with GT640M, weight at 1.49KG)... tongue.gif

Cannot agree more... Clevo W110ER IS a small BEAST to be look out for... and CHEAP (USD800/~RM2500)... thumbup.gif

@Amal, the P330 with GT650M? That would be a winner if they can keep the temperature like current laugh.gif

I might be totally wrong... can't seem to remember where I read those... tongue.gif

Howbout Samsung Q470 :

http://notebook.pconline.com.cn/testing/J_...03/2713966.html

14" 1366x768 with GT650M, weight around 2.2KG.
If you can handle the resolution, it should be ok. I think. tongue.gif

Sager seems to be the most affordable. Once it goes to other custom resellers, they'll slap on additional costs and doohickeys. Just like Origin and Maingear.

But you should see how both perform and how they handle cooling. Best to get the cooler one. laugh.gif

Yup... better wait for a proper review first before deciding... biggrin.gif
