Hi, sir, looking for recommendation either the Asus G53SX-S1208V or Hp Envy 17 3D?=)

Envy>G53
1) 3D screen.. tongue.gif
2) Slightly faster processor - Intel Core i7-2670QM quad-core processor 2.2GHz with Turbo Boost technology up to 3.1GHz
3) Full HD screen
4) Bluray drive
5) 2 battery packs so battery life  rclxms.gif comparatively
6) Larger memory - 1.5 terra compared to 1 terra
7) RAM 8gb compared to RAM 4gb

G53>Envy
1) Far superior GPU GTX560M >>>Radeon HD 6850M Graphics with 1024 MB GDDR5
2) Cool looks, HP looks a bit dull and flowery to me.. smile.gif
3) Build quality seems to be better? blink.gif
4) 2 years International warranty> 1 year International, since I'm going overseas for studies

Both prices are similar, hope sifus can help me out here.. biggrin.gif

Uses : Mid gaming, mostly movies and multitasking and web browsing.

Have you checked out the real thing already? Just go for the one you like more brows.gif

Some new laptops/tablet that we'll be seeing really soon drool.gif

Acer Aspire C5 Ultrabook- World's thinnest ultrabook

"Dubbed by Acer as the “world’s thinnest Ultrabook”, the S5 was announced ahead of Tuesday’s start of CES 2012 and comes in at only 15mm and 1.35kg (less than 3 lbs). The 13.3” laptop is made from a magnesium-alloy cover and features an unknown Intel processor along with Acer Always Connect which allows users to access data from other devices even when the laptop is sleeping. In addition, the laptop features USB 3.0, HDMI, and Thunderbolt ports that hide behind a unique “MagicFlip” panel."- notebookcheck

Well the G53 has 2 separate fans to cool the GPU and CPU respectively, whereas I'm pretty sure the Envy 17 has many issues with heat as the cooling is inadequate.

Price point of Envy 17 is higher than G53 anyway. Size may be a concern as well.

Yeah, seems like the sleek design causes it to overheat, but such problems can be settled with a nice cooler right? Besides, I'm not really into heavy gaming..=D Probably some COD and L4D, thats all..=P

Thanks to sifu [PF] T.J. for the link..=)

I had come across several units selling for prices close to RM4k, why is it far cheaper compared to the RM6k+ stated in others? O.O Is it due to importing from different country? How about warranty for these laptops then? Since its still an international warranty?

RM4k - Retail RM6k

The cheaper ones may be refurbished units and may have problems associated with warranty claims, if I'm not mistaken...

Meaning that the cheaper laptop is brand new in sealed box, not refurbished? Then why would anyone spend 2k more for the same thing?=) Is there any difference in the warranty then?

It could be brand new, it could be refurbished, since both can be cheaper than the local set here..

Wow... a GTX660M which was previously rumor to scored P20000-P21000(better than the GTX580M) on 3DMark Vantage! drool.gif

http://forum.notebookreview.com/8021843-post1.html

Even a 650M also slightly scored better than the GTX580M if looking at the rumor... running in a cheap USD899 laptop! sweat.gif

If the benchmark scores is true, my SAGER will just be another simple laptop... cry.gif
