For screen size, I think is better to have 14".

Usually, it will be used for some internet surfing, office works and some light gaming smile.gif

1. Preferred Brand - anything, but i heard asus is good?

2. Budget - not more than rm3000

3. Usage - basically for university student work and browse a lot.

4. Preferred laptop/screen size- 14 inch? as long as it's easy to take anywhere.

DV6-6168TX is WITHOUT beats solo by default. Selling price is $3999. Hopefully there'll be a price reduction or maybe free Beats on PC fair?? drool.gif drool.gif

THIS LINK MAYBE satisfy most of your specs demand..not all
If you want illuminated keyboard, you need to raise your budget and buy gaming laptop
FYI,you need to use Windows 7 64-bit if you want to have at least 4GB RAM
The price is around 2.8k-2.9k..cheers
