any1 knows how to totally unroot?
i tried the command using terminal, success...
but problem is, i cant remove/uninstall the superuser.apk from app drawer...
look for solution in xda, they suggest to flash stock firmware from samfirmware.com..
tried that too, but my tab became EU version..
then i tried to update in KIES, no problem, but KIES still recognise it as EU version.. and the kernel has the word "root" in it.. is that normal for a stock kernel?

any suggestion? i need to unroot to make a warranty claim.. my left speaker a bit faulty.... got cracking sound =(

Just sent in . The service center never bother whether you have root or not. Ask users who has sent in their rooted tabs at the Tab and SGS II official threads
*
seriously? if thats the case, then i'll send it for repair later..

also read it from Samfirmware.com, it says that the warranty only void if we bricked the device..
but if we flashed custom roms correctly, then shouldnt be a problem... sounds logic, but just needed some confirmation from LYN members... smile.gif

flash through ODIN.

The filename is

GT-P7500_XME_P7500DXKI2_P7500OLBKH1_P7500XXKI1
*
Mine is 7510.. The one i got from samfirmware was dxkg4 instead of dxki1...
After flash, kies cannot recognise my device to get dxki1 update wheni plug it to my pc.
I only flash 2 of the files from the p7510dxkg4.zip file(data n csc)... I didnt flash d bootloader as suggested by xda forumers..

Help !!!

I just got my Tab 8.9 this afternoon.

When I use IE to browse, the browser just so slow ! And eventually cannot open the websites. Go to "Market" to download game also very slow. Sometimes can download, sometime just hang.

I use my laptop and Ipad side by side, and the web page turns instantly. I am using Unifi.

What's the problem ? Is there any setting I need to activate/deactivate ?

Please help. Feel like throwing the tab into the salty sea.....
*
Since u hav just 1 post count in here, u could either be trolling or simply unlucky to get a problematic brand new tab.
Maybe try clearing some cache or sumtin..or do a factory reset..

Wat happened to ur tab?

QUOTE(CorpTelco @ Jan 6 2012, 12:24 AM)
Dear All,

I have an issue with my Galaxy tab 10.1. My screen rotation seemed to stop working immediately after i did a Horizontal Calibration with the accelerometer (auto rotation is on and not locked). Please advice, thanks in advance!

My wife's tab was working fine, and i tried to do Horizontal calibration for hers to see if that was what caused mine to act up this way, now hers also problem and she wants to kill me. Arghh
*
I did calibration a few times.. No issues so far.. Just wondering, did u put ur tab on a flat surface while calibrating? Was the blueball centered?
Hav u tried to recalibrate?
Worst scenario, factory reset la..

Thanks for the suggestion.

I have done the factory reset. But it is still the same. Then I tried connecting to my Maxis Mifi, guess what ? No problem. It is fast and smooth (well, not as smooth as my laptop/Ipad, but that is another story). So I know now it is not the Tab problem. It is my Unifi wifi problem.

I have re-configure the Unifi Wifi by pressing the reset button. After reconfiguration, the response to the Tab improve, but sometimes still hang for 3-10 seconds. When it is hang, I go to Setting, tab on the wifi network, and then go back to browser, it will load again. Effectively I have to re-join network. My Ipad also got same problem, but less frequent.

I got 2 laptop, 1 Ipad and 1 Tab using the Unifi wifi at same time. 2 Laptop very fast no problem at all. Ipad sometimes page cannot load. Tab is the worst.

Bad router ? Bad configuration ? Anybody has experienced before ? Solution ?

Please help if you can  rclxub.gif
*
i see... forgot bout the small detail.. "Unifi"
I do face a few hiccup on my friends Unifi the other day...
after a while, the network becomes slow.. then had to reboot the router..
then android device cannot reconnect (phone n tab)...
after 3 reboot, only then can reconnect...
but i hav a feeling that this is the common Unifi router problem cos i dont have much issue on other wifi router (streamyx, P1, phone hotspot etc).....

ur best option to get help is from the UNIFI official thread... maybe they know more bout the router setup...

Just a quick check with everyone, my 2nd hand tab is already rooted after I checked using the Root Checker, but the previous owner didnt flash any rom/kernel.

My question is, if i want to flash Overcome, do i need to reroot it again?
*
all custom rom comes as pre-rooted.
when u install them, the root should be there, even if you are coming from a stock unrooted rom..

So meaning to say if I'm going to flash to Overcome, I can skip the rooting process, and straight head to Odin instead?
*
dont worry to much la.. even if Overcome rom doesnt come with root.. rooting is so easy to do...

first, Install CWM by ODIN.. then install Overcome rom... easy.. dont worry bout root...
once you have CWM running, it should be fine...

Err guys.. wanna know, what is ROM flashing for? So far I only flashed before my super ancient Samsung Omnia from WinMo 6.1 to 6.5.. Did it because I liked the interface better...

So how about in tablets? Is it for performance? Do the custom ROMs have different looks?

Added on January 11, 2012, 9:53 pm

The browser's interface is nicer, I prefer that, looks sharper( dunno why I pay so much attention to looks).. But on Opera mini FB is crap, even on my Omnia...
*
if you flash to custom rom, which are normally 3.2 HoneyComb, u get compatible mode.. u can open apps that are not suitable for tab.. also, FB apps from market are more stable, no Force Close.. all of the advantages, you can read from XDA.. in each posting, read the changelog.. those are the modification made on the custom rom...

i recently purchased the dagi stylus P504 for my galaxy tab 10.1

imo, it's the best stylus i used for tab, compared to other types.. drawing, writing or even signing yr own signature is done fine with it.. especially when u paired with touchscreentune app..

pictures and video demo i will upload when i have time.. if anyone want to buy, maybe can contact me cz i planned to bulk it cz a few of my friends wants it too..

only down side is it may tend to scratch yr screen protector if yr screen is dirty..
*
i might be insterested.. mainly for taking notes.. PM me the expected price...
if without screen protector, do u think it will scratch/leave mark on the glass?

hey all....

i am now using Tab 10.1 (GT 7500) and still new with android....currently using BB + laptop for browsing and so on....so, really satisfied with my GT 10.1 ...since i really an amateur regarding GT,just wondering, what is ROOT for?

thanks...~!
*
so far, the only reason i rooted my device is to remove bloatware that comes with stock rom...
less bloatware = less memory hogging = smoother UI... second, is to backup my apps to local disk using Titanium backup.. in case i want to flash to different rom, i can simply restore all my backups without even going to market to redownload.. my progress/current data (mainly games) will also be there...

if u buy from manufacture, it's USD20 including shipping.. do yr conversion u will get yr expected price.

I will try to nego lower if in bulk, which i think should be no problem.

as long as yr screen is clean, the stylus wont scratch.. cz the scratch will come from dirty particles on yr screen as u drag yr stylus around.. but i think the glass is hard enough to withstand it.. i had my SP on, so i dunno the effect w/o it..
*
cool.. put me in the list.. i want 1...

problem with rubber tip stylus is we are not able to pin point accurately where we wanna point.. and the rubber tip will create a drag force when we are swiping on the screen... that's what i encounter for my rubber tip stylus even thou it's very responsive..

my recommendation is, if u just want a stylus to tap tap, then get rubber tip.. if u wanna write, draw and swiping around, then a dagi will be better.. i recommend with a SP on cz i can see lot's of minor scratches on my SP ady.. sweat.gif cz everytime i just hantam use stylus without cleaning.. but i dun care, cz it served it's purpose..
just proceed.. don't worry..
*
actually, if u think about it, SP is easier to scratch, since it is made of plastic material...
on xperia phone, i dont use SP at all, never seems to get scratched...

so i might not be using SP either on my tab too..
maybe after the Dagi scratches the hell out of my current SP, then i'll remove it..
btw, Gtab has gorilla glass, rite?

the sparkle make my tab look wierd... then blur some more....
