Hmm, Adobe Acrobat Pro is a paid software, Skim is freeware and Preview is built-in App on Mac.

Why don't you try all and see which one is better.

*You can find Preview in "Finder > Applications > Preview".

BTW, below is a useful link for you to read, it is Preview basics/tutorials.

Nobody mentioned this software before ?

smcFanControl

Useful free software that allows you to control the fan speed of your Mac.

smcFanControl lets the user set the minimum speed of the build in fans so you can increase your minimum fan speed to make your Intel Mac run cooler.

However in order not to damage your machines smcFanControl doesn't let you set a minimum speed to a value below Apple's defaults.

Useful tool to clear up your external storage. It's free.

CleanMyDrive: External Drives Manager

https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/cleanmydriv...523620159?mt=12

CleanMyDrive cleans up your thumb drives, memory cards and external HDDs from needless service junk generated by Windows or Mac OS (such as .DS_Store, Thumbs.db, .Spotlight, hidden trashes and so on).

It also helps you access all your available drives within one menu.

Data Recovery Free

It can help you to recover your bmp, jpg, png, tif, mp3 files back with the original quality from Mac-based internal/external storage.

IIRC, they are free even before Mavericks.

I got them pre-installed, so I can always have the latest versions for free.

Just go to the App Store and search for iPhoto and iMovie and see if your account/Mac can get them for free too.

The temperature outside is cold and I found a great free app today. It's called Degrees

user posted image

Degrees is a simple app that shows current weather conditions in the menu bar, where you can always easily see them.

Features:
• Automatically detects where you are using Apple Core Location
• Option to manually enter a location you'd like to see weather data for
• Automatically refreshes every 15 minutes and after your Mac wakes from sleep
• Choose preferred measurement units (°C/°F) as well as hide them from displaying for more minimal appearance
• One click takes you to a detailed Yahoo! Weather report
