err..nope..lol. still running Tiger
the crash seems to be due to low memory. Apps will just close once the load gets heavy

1.5GB only..

What I have running is usually... Safari, iTunes, Adobe Illust CS2, Photoshop CS2
Used to be able to run these apps together w/o any issues, even if I open a 1gb size PSD file.

Now.. cannot anymore, one of the apps will close sad.gif cry.gif

Try to increase the RAM.Or u can diagnose the system via the DVD. Start the computer with System DVD inside and press D key until it boots.

U need to put in the password first and then extract (provided that you know the password).

1. Open unRarX
2. Click on Password on top right
3. Put in the password
4. Click on Browse and browse for the file
5. Click on Extract
6. If the password is correct, then you'll get the extracted files.

i am currently running on imac 20" (2.66Ghz intel core 2 duo with 4Gb ram) which normally left running 24x7 (once a week i restart) due to using uTorrent.

but because i also use parallel (version 5) to run window vista ultimate 32bit in coherence mode (which i set running at 2 processors and 2.5Gb ram) (mainly to use windows player as some video i cant use using quicktime player and planning to use to play starcraft 2 later), now always hang or very slow performance. if i upgrade to 6Gb ram (by replacing current 2gb with 4gb ram), would the performance be better? but 4Gb ram 1067mhz ddr3 already around RM500++....ideally i want to upgrade to 8Gb but too costly

any help? suggestion?

Im not sure if RAM will increase your performance... But theoratically it should improve since you are using parallel.... Maybe you could find outside hardware shop in lowyat see if there are any rams that is cheaper? The RM500++ u ask is from apple shop isit? Maybe try asking the same type/model of ram from lowyat shop.. Maybe they are cheaper there?

1) Running parallel
2) Vista

In my opinion no 1 is already resource hungry but when couple up with no 2 somehow it doesn't gel well.
Vista 32 running natively in good spec hardware with 4GB RAM (though as usual will only detect 3.x) is too slow and sometimes hang (or too slow of response most of the time).

Running vmware but with XP Pro with 2.53 C2D and 4GB RAM. Not that bad. So far not sluggish at all. Maybe you can try with XP or with Win7 and see the performance first before plonking the cash on more ram
