QUOTE(cheokchuanyi @ Sep 20 2011, 04:50 PM) hi everyone. i am new in dlsr cam and i planing to get a Sony A55. i have check in sony website that SLT-A55VL cost 28xx.may i know isit different with Sony A55 + 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 DT SAM = RM25xx Sony A55 + 50mm F1.8 DT SAM = RM26xx (Studio Zaloon) and where can i get with this price? Thanks. Studio Zaloon is at pudu plaza somewhere behind times square. It's not known to be very cheap there either. Try go walk around BB Plaza, Imbi Plaza, next to Sg Wang for lower prices. Of course it's good to know what price does Zaloon offer before go hunting on your own. And just to let you know, Zaloon usually gets the newer items earlier than the shops out there. That is why they can afford to hike up their prices. If what you are looking for has been out for a while, a lot of shops out there already carry them.

QUOTE(NutZ748 @ Sep 21 2011, 12:38 AM) 50/30 1.8 is kinda enough... but 50 1.8 's bokeh is kinda being cut in 1.8... havent tried 50 1.4 but i saw the review...the colour fringe kinda terrible at 1.4... above is just my own opinion lar~~ How do u define bokeh being cut at 1.8?

3 of you have the Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-4.0 Macro HSM? Is it an FF lens or apsc based lens?

QUOTE(ieR @ Sep 21 2011, 05:35 PM) EVAN if u talking bout A77, that uncle chin cilaka wan earn big money for being the first few to have it. he got piority to have the camera same as sonystyle, because he is PRO shop. others street will only get it AFTER the sony retailer got it... william, those are crops. 1770 i still prefer the old 2.8-4.5~ the mfd rocks! Ingatkan FF mia, if FF, then might have a hint of interest since it's a larger range than the Minolta 2.8-4

I can't believe they still had the nerve to publish it when the NEX 7 totally owns it.
It's because the Nex7 isn't officially launched yet? Furthermore, Nex7 was only announced a couple of weeks back. That you said was as of 5th August. So your argument is invalid. This post has been edited by lwliam: Sep 21 2011, 07:19 PM

QUOTE(jimlim007 @ Sep 21 2011, 09:41 PM) Please discuss nikon stuff in Nikon thread. here is for Sony. We ARE talking about Sony. Saying how the Nikon 1 came out in the market just like how Sony Nex did and how people laughed at the size of the camera body compared to the lens. And how the Nikon 1 is having a sensor the size of a peanut compared to a walnut sized APS-C sensor on the NEX or even on Alphas for that matter. And that old timer Nikon have no chance in the EVIL-camera division against the new comers which Sony (and Olympus, Panasonic, Samsung... did I miss out any?) has to offer with much larger sensor size. So is it fair to say that Nikon 1's 1200fps VGA sized image will trump over Sony NEX's full resolution 10 fps? I'll let you decide on that Are we not talking about Sony here? I highly doubt it. QUOTE(chiam dar siang @ Sep 22 2011, 01:19 AM) but i think most girls do not care much or do not even know this sensor size thingy, for them exterior design of the camera is more important. Girls care about whether the camera can fit into their purse/handbag or not. PLUS, there's no tiltable/flippable LCD screen. This post has been edited by lwliam: Sep 22 2011, 01:32 AM

QUOTE(liquiddog @ Sep 22 2011, 12:50 PM) My sigma 17-70 2.8-4 's OS is no longer working.. whenever i turn OS on, the lens makes noise inside and the image in the view finder goes up down left right every 2-3 sec.. Well you don't need the OS anyway since our camera bodies are equipped with SteadyShot anyway. Turning OS on will in fact screw things up more.

QUOTE(electron @ Sep 22 2011, 03:09 PM) is the SSS accidentally turned on? It doesn't matter if SSS is turned on or off. The view in the OVF shows the OS is running wonky since the camera doesn't communicate with the lens telling it that the SSS is on and the OS should be in turned off. Both will run simultaneously.

QUOTE(chiam dar siang @ Sep 22 2011, 04:55 PM) so far i have no encounter flash lag in my a55 with f58, or may be i too noob to notice that... 1st take a photo without flash. Take note on what is the response like from the moment you press the shutter button till the shutter actually fires. Then 2nd, put on your flash, take the same shot and take notice of the same sequence.

You'll need to specify what pics u wanna take. So that we wouldn't suggest u to go to crocodile farm when what you wanted is to shoot butterflies.
