guys, is it normal for the camera part of the s2 to heat up like crazy, while the bottom part stays cool? when i was rearranging some icons, it just started heating up at the top part
*
ya, normally if my phone gets hot, its usually at the camera area.

was looking at the apps in getjar. seems most of their apps are free on market anyway. went and uninstalled getjar apps.

only diff with market is getjar does not seem to enforce country limits.

i was downloading moron test on getjar and could download it. but can't do so in market -- not available for country.

wanna change Iphone to S2, anyone know how to transfer phonebook and sms to S2 ?

Thanks
*
what i would do...

#1. sync from iphone to exchange/ outlook (or if apple got an option to export to csv format, then can skip exporting to outlook and go to #3)

#2. export the contacts from outlook into csv format.

#3. import into GMail contacts. Adjust the fields accordingly, if you want.

#4. from android phone, just add the account you just exported the contacts to... and download. if you change to another android phone, just add account and download. simple. smile.gif

seems friday is when ppl try to poison one another... heh heh...

so virgin is my phone that even the official firmware also not updated yet -- kies failed on me.

might just go to service centre one of these days and get it flashed for free...

actually, i wonder if SEP 1U can do it for us... saves me the trip of going to SC.

if you're using market enabler, i assume it would somehow trick market into thinking you're from US, no?

Hi all,
How much is the current retail selling price for SGS II now?
Rm1,880.00-Rm1,900.00? or Rm 2,099.00??

I am confused as some seller give SME 2 years warranty and some only 1 year SME warranty.. @@
*
SEP (Samsung Exclusive Partner -- or sth like that) sets will give you 2yrs warranty. all other shops selling sgs2 only gets 1 yr.

for SenQ... first year is Samsung warranty. subsequent years (depending on your warranty purchased) is by SenQ (and the insurance company they use).

Thanks for shedding light dragoon bro.

Wonder how much does Senq selling it?

I went to Samsung booth in 1Utama once and they are selling it for 2099 with 2years warranty.
Other resellers only provides 1 year warranty but slightly cheaper price.
My point is, would it be worthy to get additional warranty coverage by paying extra?  rclxub.gif
*
warranty Q... that's something only you can answer. it very much depends on how long you think the phone will last, when you plan to change new phone, etc...

that outlet with 2yrs warranty in 1U is located in front of the escalator, right? that's the SEP in 1U. smile.gif

SenQ selling for 2099 as well, if i remember correctly. but there's extra you need to pay for the extra warranty. there's a SenQ warranty thread here in LYN forum. basically, no one knows for sure if the warranty claim will be honoured... coz no one's claimed before and shared. there's even on type of warranty by SenQ that even covers theft!

btw, how much are the other shops offering sgs2? its local and not AP units, right?

if you checked eternity warrior (and all GLU games), one of the permission they request is to start running service when the phone boots ups. it will continue to run and start itself after you kill it (if i remember correctly). so, i've blacklisted all GLU games.

it is actually a service,

maps, go setting>location & security>untick use wireless networks

for eternity warriors nothing you can do about it, same as all Glu games
not so familiar about swype's deleting function but the latest swype beta has dictionary management
*
ya... downloaded the beta on my tablet and saw the dictionary option... *sigh* just annoying that each time i wanna type 2, i keep forgetting and end up with 2moro.

Screen size ; always love big screen. That is why my Dell Streak is my main phone. The SGS II only secondary phone, use only to test/experiemnt with roms. The new Galaxy Note will have the Dell Streak size ( slight bigger ) and SGS II performance - what a good 2-in -1 good combo
*
streak... i once tested a streak 5 in a shop at mid valley. it was horrible... everything was laggy. took seconds to switch to different page, launch apps, etc... i dunno if the demo unit was buggy or what... i was turned off by the demo unit. anyway, last i heard, dell cancelled streak already.

i'm surprised u din say tab7 is your main phone... smile.gif

so i used it, but still the reading wasnt accurate, just like ur case. when i brought the case to maxis, they said the reading by watchdog couldnt be took as proof because it's a 3rd party software.. sigh!  sweat.gif

if i recall correctly, watchdog 3g dun monitor data going thru wifi hotspot or sth like that. anyway, best to use telco that dun charge for exceeding bandwidth. smile.gif

Added on September 9, 2011, 1:31 pmwah... i just noticed... sgs2 is like iphone now... everyone seems to have it. goodness... on the train... i see ppl with sgs2. in the restaurant... same thing. in the office... also sgs2...

i was checking out the specs... normally dun pay attention since already got sgs2, no $ to look at other things... the higher resolution is nice.

gps caught my attention. it's mentioned as GLONASS.

The dell default UI is poorly designed; just replace it with say Launcher Pro, or Zeam, ADW - you will see a 100% improvement. Use a cook rom , and the performance is up another 100%. If this phone is bad, I will not be using it as my requirements are quite high. It ranks 3rd in my favorite phones after SGS II, HTC  Incredible S. It beats the newer Xperia Arc, old Galaxy S in performance. I sold it after I bought the SGS II . But after a month, I bought back a new set. That just shows how I valued it. Some things in life you just need to experienced it to appreciate its goodness. Fleeting impressions are not always correct

I never used Tab 7" as a phone - the phone function is just a bonus. It is just inconvenient. Use it to make a call is still OK but imagine taking a call while you are on the move, it is just not practical. So I am still puzzled why so many users wants the latest Tab 10.1 to have calls function
*
ya, that's why i was surprised when u said its your main phone... coz my experience with the demo unit really killed any interest i had, even though i m a huge dell fan.

but oh well...

anyway, sgs2 is real poison... first buy phone... then case... then data plan... then external battery pack... oh ya... memory card some more... and i think need a new case (i have to repeat -- avoid sgp silke! after abt 2mths use, its now loose)...

wonder if i should have just gone for those flip case... i find it so retro. like motorola star tac. smile.gif
