the proxy in settings is for your web browser only, and it doesnt affect the apps, so far there is not a single app that could acomplish this, tried alot times bcoz my university uses proxy for wifi

Got a few methods to transfer between android, here i'll list also between computers.

1) The classic yet fast and reliable, Bluetooth aka Gigibiru. Now with Bluetooth 3.0, if your comp/laptop/android supports it, it should be quite fast best for small files, up to 25mb
2) Exchanging the microsd card, this assumes you have a port or adapter or an phone with microsd/sd slot, speed would depend on your microsd class, but the fact that you have to off phone & take out the battery isnt very appealing.
3) Swiftp, tutorial http://www.thesimplest.net/android/simples...roid-wirelessly thanks to iori57 one of the best method of file transfer, it allows your phone to act as a server that can be accessed from your computer, best thing about ftp is you can access it using a normal window, therefore you can drag and paste, right click cut etc etc. Speed is average, 5mins 30 secs for a 261mb download, 2mins 45 secs for upload. best for above 100mb files. As for mobile, you can accessed that address using a file explorer or web browser
4) Kies Air, accessible from your app drawer, it acts also as a server, accessible and you can send sms from it too, moving of files is limited to 100mb, speed not sure as i didnt try moving before, need browser.
5) Wifi File Explorer, another app that uses wifi and act as a server, also unlike swiftp, requires a web browser.
6) ES File Explorer/Astro File Explorer or any other explorers that can support LAN, there are a few others. These require the usual know how about sharing your files and folders on the network, as long your files are shared, you can view them, and do all the things a file explorer can, copy paste cut etc, even stream from them but with limit.(this can also be achieved between androids given one shares his files via the Allshare app, while the other uses file explorer to take.)
7) The Best of all, Wifi-Direct, The best advancement in technology in its class, sending 130mb of files in 15-20 seconds, beating all the above methods by far. Transfer between 2 SGS2 is quite simple, altho you have to scan and reconnect each time after 2 minutes. Some files are not supported, so far .xml cant be sent. but speed, Godlike Unfortunately not many devices supports wifi-direct, theoretically only 1 device is needed to have wifi-direct but in the SGS2 case, we need both devices to support it, why i still dont know as only a few devices are using it.

using 3g watchdog? try get betterbatterystats from xda to check for wakelocks or u can try calibrate the battery method from fiz page, if still bad, then sc u go

it is actually a service,

maps, go setting>location & security>untick use wireless networks

for eternity warriors nothing you can do about it, same as all Glu games

not so familiar about swype's deleting function but the latest swype beta has dictionary management

change the view mode to landscape, it doesnt focuses, others i not sure

update to the latest KH2 firmware

hahas same thing happened with me, tried go keyboard also, eventho got swype function, but the original swype still the best

oh? then maybe upgrading to KH2 will fix it, because forums all say 2.3.4 the first time it got fixed was when they release XXKG1, but XXKH2 is even newer than XXKG1 and supposed to be 2.3.4 too but asian roms special, still 2.3.3 , so it might just work

CF3D with Nvidia plugin and flash to 2.3.4 or maybe update KH2 to get everything running perfectly, if dowan update/flash only got slight graphics glitches with the starts something got sometime none.

no way 2k impossible lor, maxis plan got cap wan unless she memang no plan la, then maybe its possible. About the s2, yes it will use data in the background, examples are when u select auto update some apps, they will update itself, like maps then will eat data, also the market itself will update, google's own network location data gathering, google's cloud backup service and also samsung account, these i got the values through 3g watchdog, only market auto updating the apps and google cloud backup will eat quite some data, others are very minor only, so make sure you set it correctly.

maxis very very scary wan, use 3g watchdog or data counter widget, when reach 75% quota better stop ad

actually there's more apps that can measure like battery monitor widget, process monitor widget, but these are too detailed for a normal user.

like noobi3 said factory reset, if not update to KH2, if you flash before, then u go flash other roms, if never flash b4, then SC you go

seriously i agree, many people dont realise it until they got a smartphone and heavily using the net and apps, my nokia n96 and w800 both will die very quickly if wifi or 3g is on, yet many ppl dont realise it...
