QUOTE(keyzjh @ Sep 8 2011, 05:42 PM) It is up to the end users what they wish to do with their phone, I don't think anyone should be judged. It is their phone, not yours. If everyone thinks like you, it will be the death of fanboism as we know it lol.Which is a GOOD thing, except some drama now and then is actually quite destressing. As for mobile data, well, ever since I got my 5800 and dumped a broadband subscription onto it, I just can't think of life w/o having internet EVERYWHERE (as long as there's signal) any more. God, I had a chance today to play around with the 2008 Samsung Top Dog, the original Omnia. How things have changed lol, though it had TouchWiz too. The owner FINALLY decided to upgrade. I don't think I even need to mention what he upgraded to lol. This post has been edited by Eiraku: Sep 8 2011, 06:25 PM |

Did the userbase just exponentially multiply?
Someone must have divided by zero... |

QUOTE(MercurialA @ Sep 9 2011, 03:32 AM) There's been a new market for quite a while.@SEA: Life in SGS world is not too bad (myself I do miss a physical keyboard sometimes tho), at least ROMs and stuff are easy to flash. Really, this is the ONLY device that I know of that's almost as unbrickable as the N900. The Nexus/Galaxy Prime is titillating tho. Mmmmmm HD SAMOLED+. QUOTE(whoopa @ Sep 9 2011, 05:51 PM) why u say that eiraku? also i notice u since w810 last time liao. go to iphone4 also saw u ... now i plan to change to sgs2 also see u hahaha Red string of fate lol? There must be a God dictated reason why I lost my iP4 (either that or I just lost it bcoz I'm an absent minded idiot).Anyhows, I said that bcoz of the goreng pisangness of the SGS2. I mean I used iPhone 4 for 3 months in Lipis, nobody followed suit. I use the SGS2 for like 2, there's already 2 other people I know of using it now. In Kuala freaking Lipis liow. Hows that for market penetration? This post has been edited by Eiraku: Sep 9 2011, 06:12 PM |

QUOTE(yehlai @ Sep 9 2011, 07:09 PM) About RM120 with shipping from Momax's own e-shop. It's a great deal considering Momax's a well known batt brand. It's about twice as thick as the ori batts. Back cover is glossy and has a metal swivel stand built in, but the stand's not really THAT well designed (it's not 100% stable, but it's prolly better then nothing). Best bonus, it fits PERFECT with the walnutt bumper. EDIT: Walnutt bumper's prolly why the stand isn't working too well lol. This post has been edited by Eiraku: Sep 9 2011, 08:05 PM |

QUOTE(benny888 @ Sep 9 2011, 08:12 PM) First time i hear battery can lag phone. What is the rationale Battery power leakage = system instability? I dunno, but maybe he got a lemon pack. I KNOW cheapo chargers can screw up the capacitive screen.I am also using andida, bought 2 units. Never faced such issues. See no diference with original. For its price nohing to complain except its life slight shorter than original Here's a quickie review pulled from the one I posted on XDA: 1) About twice as thick as normal Samsung. 2) Back cover is kinda thin and nowhere feels as good as the original Samsung cover. It's glossy too. 3) Fits the Walnutt (and thus the Amigo and whatnot similar bumpers) perfectly, thanks to the very compact "bump" at the back. Though stand is no longer stable with bumper on. 4) Stand is metal, and while not quite usable with a bumper on, makes for a nice camera protector. A plunger type stick on stand would do nicely here. 5) Packaging is very, very well designed. It's been a while since I had such easy, scissors free access to plastic wrapped gadgets. 6) Included pouch fits well, but magnetic clasp no longer works when phone + batt + bumper is stuffed in. Pull tab is nice though. Overall, for about $40 (RM120) with shipping, the Momax is pretty good value considering the fact they throw in that handy pouch for free. Will move on to performance testing tomorrow. Hopefully they don't let me down. Funny I ordered my spider-foots first, and the Momaxes arrive earlier. QUOTE(Fallenangelz @ Sep 9 2011, 08:39 PM) Phone's out for like only 2 months, really bad luck. And just no. DO NOT compare a touch superphone with a BB. Because you get a BB when you need a BB, only that. Otherwise, BB's are crap IMHO. Until QNX, things might improve. But I will never EVER consider a BB as a "primary device" as of right now. IPhone, fine. WP7 okay. I mean, I'd rather get a Symbian device. It's that bad. This post has been edited by Eiraku: Sep 9 2011, 08:46 PM |

Really, I'm thinking, like the iSheep, the exponential growth of the SGS2 userbase is a GOOD thing, as it results in MORE accessories being made for the SGS2.
Which is always good. Shame it also results it seeing the SGS2 everywhere, and it's no longer an "exclusive" device any more, sob. This post has been edited by Eiraku: Sep 9 2011, 08:50 PM |

QUOTE(desmondk @ Sep 9 2011, 08:52 PM) Simple Q 1, what did you do with it?Android is an OPEN platform, and usually stuff that goes wrong in Android is usually due to people running stuff that they shouldn't. Q 2, what firmware are you running. |

Getjar, well, last I tried it wouldn't even let me install the app itself lol. It's buggy like that.A2, lastest official firmware, KH2 So, no issues. Just app problems. Weh, anybody here have encountered the SMPL error screen before? It seems not even uncle Google knows what that's about.
Anyways, moar stuff: ![]() ![]() Vulpix on HWZ wasn't kidding, 3M gave not just instructions, they packed the Estoc+ in a frigging thick booklet. Quick review: 1) It's clear and kinda glossy compared to my old grease smeared UltOpts, but somehow it's not as glossy as say Crystal Clear or my naked Glas SP. ALSO, maybe it's glossy like BECAUSE of the Glas underneath, not sure. 2) Cutting is PERFECT. Though using with Glas means I have to cut up some parts, and it's easier to cut too vs my old UltraOptics. 3) Here's the magic part. While it's glossy a bit, IT DOES NOT PICK UP FINGERPRINTS. Somehow. Seriously weird. A reflection of the nearest light source shows that like UltOps, it seems to use some sort of microarray system to achive anti-glare/anti-fingerprint, but there's no zippy/rough feeling like on the UltOps. 4) Clarity seems very good indeed. Crystal > Glas > Estoc+ > UltOpts > PS AG (on my old iP4). For an SP with anti-fingerprint properties, this is very good indeed, and both the Glas and Crystal protectors are fingerprint magnets. 5) It's easy to clean, provided to follow the instructions. Supposedly rubbing the SP in light circles promotes its scratch healing properties. Sounds like bogus mojo, but the circular motion DOES clean the SP faster somehow. It's like the old karate kid's "wax on, wax off" thing, with the tiny provided cloth. Just lol. 6) It's expensive at more then two times the price of the UltOps (2x for RM60, in comparision, you only get 1 Estoc+ for that price + RM15). Buuuut, considering I paid about RM120 for a single twinpack PowerSupport SP in my iP4 days, it's not all THAT bad for the price. PLUS, you get a very, very nice booklet (PS only comes in an SGP like paper pack with nothing much inside). But you can only buy from Gmarket and shipping is KILLER, unless you bulk. More pics of the self advertising booklet: ![]() ![]() This post has been edited by Eiraku: Sep 10 2011, 03:25 PM |

QUOTE(Lineage @ Sep 10 2011, 03:05 PM) Gmarket, currently the ONLY place to get one. And it's about RM75 with RM30ish postage. If I can get 10 ppl to wanna start a bulk, I we can split the shipping to a more managable level (as they do bulk shipping). But otherwise, RM30 for shipping can get you a capdase SP already lol. Counting some guys who have expressed interest before, we have 5 takers already. 5 more slots to go.
Oh, and Estoc's thinner then UltOps so screen sensitivity feels great! |

![]() ![]() First quick test of the Momax 2700mah battery, uncalibrated. 4 hour 30 min screen on, heavy use time. Quite okay considering I only get a maximum of 7-8 hours max usually with the stock batt under the same general usage pattern. QUOTE(keyzjh @ Sep 10 2011, 07:59 PM) I'm interested in the Estoc as well Wasn't it you who first contacted me about the Estocs anyway lol.EDIT: Eiraku, can you post about how scratch resistant the Estoc+ is, probably after a few days of usage? My ultra crystal has a few hairline scratches on it already, and I wouldn't mind replacing it with the Estoc if it is really scratch resistant. Scratch resistance is actually normal, like ultra crystal. Only diff is the scratches supposedly heal themselves (through rubbing in circular motion or by itself, magically). I can attest to the healing of microscratches through rubbing, happened a few times already. QUOTE(ashwin1234 @ Sep 10 2011, 08:05 PM) Interested in the Estoc, but I already have a free SP that the salesguy gave...is it really much bettter? because my one now is damn anti-glare, very easy to use, scared that one might be shiny If you don't like shiny at all, then the Estoc might not be for you. It's like semi-shiny, semi-matte. BUT, it's confirm clearer then any matte film I know of.
