I have always heard and seen motors for curtains. But today, one of the light shop owner recommend me to use motor for one of my pendant lights that will be located on the open staircase area, which I believe is 3 story high.
The benefit for such motor is to enable the pendant lights to be lowered to ground level for maintenance purposes and save the trouble of using inconvenient process like scaffolding to repair the light or replace the bulb.
Has anyone seen this before?

Pendant light? Not chandelier?
Only 1 thing tht comes out frm my mind, how often the motor will be utilised considering the frequency of maintenance for the pendant light or chandelier. How often do U need to replace the bulb for the pendant/chandelier?

Having them so high up without any means to clean is a problem. In some malls, they use the pulley system that allows the fittings to be lowered for maintenance.
