I have always heard and seen motors for curtains. But today, one of the light shop owner recommend me to use motor for one of my pendant lights that will be located on the open staircase area, which I believe is 3 story high.

The benefit for such motor is to enable the pendant lights to be lowered to ground level for maintenance purposes and save the trouble of using inconvenient process like scaffolding to repair the light or replace the bulb.

Has anyone seen this before?
