good day,
i am considering to buy an alza ive read this thread fr pg 1 - 133, my conclusion Alza has pro n cons, im using proton savvy before and i think minor imperfection of alza wont bother me much, (but i do hope no problem with the engine system) rite now got 1 perodua shop offering 2012 advanced model with MYR4k discount, do u think its worth it? or should i take 2013 model, need advise tq |

QUOTE(the golden sukuk @ Apr 3 2013, 11:49 PM) good day, Honestly, I still feel that alza is a good option if budget is limited....buying alza is like playing a gamble game, you might get a less problematic car or very bad car...this is due to bad QC from perodua and the victims always are consumers....i am considering to buy an alza ive read this thread fr pg 1 - 133, my conclusion Alza has pro n cons, im using proton savvy before and i think minor imperfection of alza wont bother me much, (but i do hope no problem with the engine system) rite now got 1 perodua shop offering 2012 advanced model with MYR4k discount, do u think its worth it? or should i take 2013 model, need advise tq in my concept, if a new car is worst than 10-20 years old car, that's mean it is outdated in term of technologies used...the manufacturer is producing car using outdated method or technologies.. so, that's why I feel very frustrated because I moved from 11 years old honda city to perodua alza and noticed that alza still using lousy method to build car....like example: in my case, petrol leaking and petrol fumes leak to cabin..... btw, the only consideration to choose 2012 or 2013 model is the resale value..... QUOTE(tiensong @ Apr 4 2013, 11:26 AM) Honestly, I still feel that alza is a good option if budget is limited....buying alza is like playing a gamble game, you might get a less problematic car or very bad car...this is due to bad QC from perodua and the victims always are consumers.... Or more like omitting a lot of stuff and sourcing a lot of poor-quality parts to bring down the cost of production and maximising profits... That's what Perodua is doing now...in my concept, if a new car is worst than 10-20 years old car, that's mean it is outdated in term of technologies used...the manufacturer is producing car using outdated method or technologies.. so, that's why I feel very frustrated because I moved from 11 years old honda city to perodua alza and noticed that alza still using lousy method to build car....like example: in my case, petrol leaking and petrol fumes leak to cabin..... btw, the only consideration to choose 2012 or 2013 model is the resale value..... Can you believe a less-than-a-week old car rides like a 10-year old piece of junk...? My Alza was in that condition when I got it brand new... Sound-proofing was almost nil (perfect tin-can) that long-journey drives caused fatigues and sleepiness... There was once I almost dozed off while driving from Malacca to KL.... Vibration and harshness was terrible, in part thanks to the supplied tyres... Those tyres are hard, making rides harsh. Braking on wet road sometimes can trigger ABS early... So for those acoustically-untreated Alza on long journey, this car can be a killing machine... @wtm0325... any solution yet on B-pillar noise...? Mine's getting louder and more often even on perfectly tarred road... |

QUOTE(kalvinwee @ Apr 4 2013, 06:58 PM) this pic i took on 2011 in japan, Specs are irrelevant... Perodua may have had the Alza souped up from the original Passo Sette specs, it will not gonna offset their sourced local parts of inferior quality...japs specs are even lower as their is 14" rim tyre as per myvi, 175/65r14. so alza & myvi consider not asia production. LOL.... What's the percentage of local contents on the Alza...? 90%...? |

Review of 60,000km service:
1) Liqui Moly 10w30 Engine Oil - RM120 2) Bosch Oil Filter - RM7 3) OEM Cabin Filter - RM30 4) OEM Air Filter - RM11 5) Threebond Air Conditioner - RM45 6) Lambda Primer - RM40 7) P2 ATF 3litre - RM57 Throw in Lambda Primer before oil change. When flushing out the engine oil, it was very black, not sure that's the effect of Lambda Primer or my change interval was 10,500km Apply threebond but not much effect afterall. During the process, only some white smoke come out, maybe my engine still clean Ok now lets talk about liqui moly 10w30 engine oil. The oil is dark grey color, just like the chinese sesame dessert soup we use to eat. Slightly thicker than normal P2 oil, even it is the same viscosity. Result? Slightly slower pick up! The engine sound seems more rough too The rest of the stuff I just use the normal cikai brand, since it is cheap and won't make much difference. ATF wise, better use back original P2 oil. The culprit of gearbox performance is to reduce heat. If you want to improve the responsiveness of the auto gear box, install a ATF cooler will gain much significant result than changing special ATF. In fact, if wrong ATF use, say goodbye to your gearbox Conclusion, spend so much money but ended up performance improvement is not significant at all, and even slower pickup due to the engine oil I choose |

Yo guys, have not been here for a very long time. It seem Tien Song has joined force with Bro E. Keep bashing the Alza guys.. altho i totally love mine.
Time for another product review. i finally bought Red Line Air Filter from koko yenfei on one of my recent trip to KL.. and the result.. instant effect. The car rev better. And it does not rev too much until u can hear the engine screaming. i used to rev up to 4k - 5k rpm, assisted by Edge, and could not heart the piston growling for power. With the performance Red Line Air Filter, it is totally different.. i dont really reach 4k rpm anymore to reach the desired speed. 3k rpm was more than enough. Thanks yenfei. Dat's why you are my bro. No snake oil or placebo. It is the real thing. Worth the investment. One another note.. my sis in law, whose brother bought the same Alza model like mine, was surprise the see the raw power my alza can produce.. i popped the hood and showed him 3 lil wonders.. 1. the Edge VS 2. Ground Cable 3. Performance Air Filter i have concluded the modification on Engine. The power is more than enough to handle this mini mpv. Cheers.
