and @ kev.  mostly is limited by usb transfer speed in usb 2.. but in usb 3.... hdd bcum botleneck..

so theoritically if we change the hdd inside with bigger capacity one it can still run at usb 3.0 speed eh?

Hmm..but i dunno how to change inside coz the hard disk is encased adi.My old 1.5Tb Buffalo external hard disk is using usb 2.0...mayb can change to usb 3.0??

inside an ex hdd... is a normal hdd with sata interface. i tink...

it's the connection.. the translator that makes it usb 3.0...


if so..

then changing to biggir hdd while keeping the connector electronics should work.. i tink hmm.gif

i think inside the enclosure its also same sata interface. Just the outside there port is different. Usb 2.0 is mini usb, then 3.0 is something special port. Coz hdd out there now also sata interface one right.... didn't see any other interface one. So i guess the only difference is the outside that special port rather than mini usb

I tried copying a 10GB file to my USB3 exHDD ... it completed in less than 2 minutes

If I'm not mistaken it was around 80MBPS+
Not really 10x faster than USB2 though...

ya usb 2.0 is very slow. last time i copied 100+ gb from my fren took around 1 hour@@
