If u dont like to risk because sandforce controller is kinda like gambling..if u r lucky,u get a good 1.Most of the sifus in Hardware section usually recommend corsair F60,OCZ vertex 2 or 3,OCZ agility 2 or 3 and Intel X25M.Crucial M4 of course is better but kinda hard to find here

icic..btw..how was your furmark test last night?

well after running those recommended by lee sifu, we can say its power insufficiency. Max i can get is cpu throttle at 1.3ghz and gpu at 556 mhz, then the graph will go smooth. Increase in any of them then starts spiking ady.


@duckies ya m4 is real tempting but kinda hard to find also. New intel 500 series starts off with 120gb and its like 900+@@

U have to consider the capacity.Seagate Momentus XT has 500GB for 400 bucks..while SSD has around 64GB for 400 bucks.Unless u take out the ODD to install the SSD,u will have to choose either SSD or HDD.Seagate Momentux XT is 2 in 1.

@htpkevin, if you change the ODD to SSD, you will have both HDD and SSD in ur notebook ?

lol, my odd is definitely out. But i thought of changing my internal hdd also. 5400rpm only>.< maybe change to 1tb one or something? coz 640gb is not enough for me...

same here. but only one way to test this theory. do u happen to have a 120W power brick? or u got fren have it? can borrow from them and test it? Coz if this can solve the problem. Then we need to show asus ady. Demand them to compensate us all with a 120W power brick. a power brick is not cheap wei...

well we don really use dvd that often. Coz not blu ray drive. if blu ray i might keep it. But now even if they give me original dvd i also don wanna watch xD. I have 1080p all the way xD surely much better than theirs.

i'll probably take it out and get an enclosure for it. Coz its thin and light only. can just slip into bag and carry around. i'm using 14" what xD. If 15.6" then probably won't take out coz things will get bulky and heavier....

no lo...online search for the brick seem like most bricks are from kensington...haizz..

i've never seen a laptop with 1TB storage.... execpt for Toshiba's gaming laptop.

ya true true xD. I checked bios, we actually got 3 sata interface for our mobo, another one is empty. pity our laptop don have enough space lol. If not then we can put in another hdd/odd/ssd lol.


@lim_kobe ya kensington has a 120W one quite nice, but not available in msia. Need to import i guess....

Ya lo..since the notebook has built in ODD...then u take out..next time emergency wanna use,cannot use adi.But it's up to individual la.

Btw,640Gb should be sufficient wert..1 game averagely 10 Gb (Let's round up it because some game might below 10Gb and some game might more than 10Gb)...640Gb - OS - applications = 100 Gb used....so left 540 Gb..which means can install 54 games adi.Still not enuf?Unless u use it for storage purpose like movies and games which i use external hard disk to back up

lol normally my games won't take that much actually. just a few games. mostly are movies la. all 720p and 1080p lol. way too big. and i ady got 2 external hdd ady@@. Don really feel like carrying 3 external hdd all over the place xD(somemore one is 3.5" one, need external power one, that one is heavy@@)

U upgrade ur internal hard disk to 1gb from 640 gb...meaning extra 360 Gb only wert =.=ll...it's going to be filled up sooner and later and u will have to go to external hard disk once again.

I'd never sacrifice it for a SSD lol. Cause i've experienced the pain without a dvdrom in my Air before.. in fact, im planning to change it to blurayrom.
640GB is not enough for me also cause i have a lot of movies and games... so i'll be getting 3TB external hdd end of this year
