If you have problems with /sd-ext not mounting (with "Invalid argument"), and formatting /sd-ext in CWM doesn't work, just do a manual format:

Code:
with adb shell :
$ adb shell mke2fs /dev/block/mmcblk0p2

or

For a manual format open terminal and type
su
mke2fs /dev/block/mmcblk0p2

If the system doesn't allow due to data usage in the ext, wipe dalvik-cache and redo this procedure again.
I did this too, and everything is fine.

Since you're on ver 1.2, you will have to disable mad2sd first :

Using Terminal Emulator :

#su
#mad2sd off
#reboot

1) Install v.1.4 , hotfix1 and gapps.
2) Perform wipe battery stats.
3) Reboot.
4) Install S2E and perform the settings as according to Psyke's guides.

Done.

Note : You need to have Ext4 to use S2E. If not then you'll have to use Link2SD.

S2E is more advanced and perform better than Link2sd. But it needs Ext4 to function.

You can check if you have or have not disable mad2d :

Terminal Emulator -

#su
#mad2sd

If you've disabled it, it'll show something like this :

* swapon - enable swap
* swapoff - disable swap
* tweak - tweak drives for speed

MAD Team ROM status :

Swap Size : xxxxxxKB

Don't worry about those stats. I don't have swap partition, but it shows my swap size. whistling.gif

Better do a clean install as this v.1.4 is entirely a new rom - deodexed.
This means,

1) Wipe data
2) Wipe Dalvik cache
3) Wipe battery stats
5) Do a manual format of ext4 partition :

Code :

Using adb shell -

$ adb shell mke2fs /dev/block/mmcblk0p2

or

Using terminal emulator -
#su
#mke2fs /dev/block/mmcblk0p2

4) Install v.1.4 , hotfix 1 and gapps. (better install the usual minimum gapps - official: minimal (20110613).
The first time I install the full gapps and it required a lot of space till my memory remains only about 50+ MB!

Then install S2E and perform the settings as according to Psyke's guide for S2E.

Then re-install your apps. You can back up with titanium and re-install back, but I don't use titanium as it sometimes may mess up the data files.

EDIT : I did not move my apps before uninstalling Link2SD. I just uninstalled it.

No need to uninstall your apps. Just uninstall Link2sd.

Use CWM to perform all those steps except No.#5 which you use using your phones's Terminal Emulator.

Yes you're right....except download cache.

Check if your S97ramscript is there :

>Root Explorer > system/etc/init.d -----> if it's not there, then re-install again.

Can the S97ramscript be applied for other android devices? I have a China generic Android Tablet running Android 2.2. So just curious if it will be ok for that? drool.gif

Your device needs : Root and Kernel which supports init.d

There's no harm trying because this is a script.

On your device, open root explorer, go to > /system/etc/ ---> look if init.d folder is there or not. If not,
you can try creating a folder and name it init.d. If you can't create, then your phone's kernel doesn't support init.d.

Btw, stock froyo rom too doesn't support.
