The current version is the most stable, fastest. I don't experience much forced closures....only once in a while.

What baseband are you using? I'm using JP6 and wifi and GPS is working very good for me. Even when I'm on the 2nd Flr with wifi router groundfloor, I can get good wifi reception.
*
how do u check/change the baseband? i am getting quite a bad signal for my wifi.if i am right, i think my current baseband is I5500LUYJP2

Hotfix2 is released and it's better.

GUIDES/PROCEDURES TO UPDATE FROM v.1.1 to 1.2 + hotfix2 :

Required :

1) CWM latest version - v0.5 zip    Link - http://www.madteam.co/forum/development/%2...cret-projectgt/
2) cm v.1.2
3) hotfix2
4) **Google Apps (20110613)

Link - http://www.madteam.co/forum/development/%2...alaxy5%27-port/

Procedures (follow these steps in order) :

1) Backup your current rom with CWM (recommended).
a) Press > Off button > reboot > recovery -----> when CWM boots up (If it doesn't boot up, Press > volume up button + off button for approx. 8 - 10 secs - this is normal) select > backup and restore > backup.
b) After the backup is completed, select > reboot system now.

2) Disable mad2sd :
a) Use Terminal Emulator -

#su
#mad2sd off
#reboot

b) If you have a lot of apps installed, the system will abort this disabling as the phone's internal memory is limited. You can either move your apps to Titanium backup or uninstall some of your apps. But it is recommended not to use Titanium backup as it may create problems for data apps restoration. Uninstalling and re-installing back the apps manually one by one may be troublesome, but it's worth the effort as from my experience, this does not give any problem.

3) Install the three files in sequence -
a) cm v.1.2
b) hotfix2
c) Google Apps (20110613)
d) reboot

3) Go to market, download and install Link2sd.
a) On first start of Link2sd, it will prompt you to mount your sdcard's ext.
b) Tick these - Auto Link and in the Auto link settings - all the three checkboxes.
c) When you re-install your apps, they will automatically link to Link2sd. If not, you can select > Create Link.

4) Re-install your apps.

5) Done!

NOTE :

1) ** Google Apps (20110613) - This package does not contain all the google apps as the phone's internal memory cannot hold all of them. If you need any google apps which is not available in this package, go to this link -

http://android.modaco.com/topic/335141-add...pps-2011-07-12/

a)Don't install the package, instead install each one individually (Option 1b).

2) Check baseband , go to > settings > about phone > baseband version

a) If you have never flashed/changed your baseband before, and your phone is purchased here in Malaysia, your baseband should be either
I5503DXJP6 or JP7.

b) You can get basebands from Madteam - http://www.madteam.co/forum/development/basebands/ or samfirmware.
Baseband can only be flashed with ODIN and NOT CWM.

c) Basebands are only related to the connectivity between your phone and telecommunication signals from the service providers and GPS signals. It has little to do with wifi signals which is related to the supplicant script in the rom. Therefore, your low wifi signals is most probably an issue with either the script or wifi router.

once again, thanks a lot alex!! smile.gif after following all your steps above,i am getting 109mb of free memory for my internal storage smile.gif but why my memory info at the "about phone" category shows 47mb/183mb??
btw, why my baseband is jp2(i bought it in malaysia and i never flashed/changed my baseband before).should i change it to jp6 or jp7? telecommunication wise i did feel a bit unstable sometime.

1) Don't worry about that memory reading in the "about phone" - that is the ram usage. The actual space memory is at >settings > storage and at Link2sd.

2) If your line/data and GPS is ok, then you don't need to change. But if you want to change, just download the baseband file from the link I gave in the previous post, and just flash it with ODIN. For Malaysia, JP6 or JP7 is recommended.

Open Link2sd, go to > menu > more >>>> Relink library files and also >>>Link dalvik-cache files. Your internal memory should be restored back to normal.

With Link2sd, the internal memory normally remains stable no matter how many apps you installed, EXCEPT system apps which are stored in the phone's memory. System apps are default launcher, contacts, calculators, default camera....etc., etc. These apps shouldn't be removed unless you know how to replace them with another similar app like default launcher with another launcher.
*
i tried to relink library files but it force closes everytime i clicked it(process.com.duak.link2sd).as for link dalvik cache files, there's no files found when i clicked it.

Delete or move file -

05mountsd in /system/etc/init.d

to sdcard then rebooted the phone because you may have that script which conflicts with L2D.

To do this, use root explorer, go to -

system/etc/init.d, press mount rw on top right corner, now simply move 05mountsd to sdcard and reboot.

thanks a lot..relink-ed the library files and now i got 107mb of free space smile.gif

Do you mean cannot download and install.....or already download and installed, but can't type on the emulator?

If cannot download, try this link : http://www.4shared.com/file/ECqth3pV/Bette...ator_Pro__.html

If cannot type on the emulator, it's because of the keypad. You have to use your phone in portrait mode.

lols.thanks a lot.it was because of the keyboard.xD

You can feel the difference in the responsiveness and performance of your phone.

It's an automated script. The only way to check if it's functioning is by going to
>settings > about phone > Mem info ---------> You'll find the avail mem increased to at least 35++ to 60 MB.
This is the Ram. Formerly before I have this script, my Ram memory highest is around 25++. Now it's averaging about 40++.

Android system cannot have totally free ram as this will result in the system crashing. But the more free ram you have, the faster and more responsive is your phone.

Added on September 22, 2011, 4:47 pmzam_changloon,

How is the difference after installing the S97 ramscript?

And those who have installed it, can please give feedback? Just curious wanna know... tongue.gif

Thanks Folks.

I've installed the s97 ramscript. So far i didn't feel any difference lols.but the ram on my phone is now 40+ smile.gif

Since you're on ver 1.2, you will have to disable mad2sd first :

Using Terminal Emulator :

#su
#mad2sd off
#reboot

1) Install v.1.4 , hotfix1 and gapps.
2) Perform wipe battery stats.
3) Reboot.
4) Install S2E and perform the settings as according to Psyke's guides.

Done.

i thought i already disable mad2sd before ? do i need to do that again? (i am not sure which version i am using) (i remember it was before the version before the hotfix 3

Better do a clean install as this v.1.4 is entirely a new rom - deodexed.
This means,

1) Wipe data
2) Wipe Dalvik cache
3) Wipe battery stats
5) Do a manual format of ext4 partition :

Code :

Using adb shell -

$ adb shell mke2fs /dev/block/mmcblk0p2

or

Using terminal emulator -
#su
#mke2fs /dev/block/mmcblk0p2
4) Install v.1.4 , hotfix 1 and gapps. (better install the usual minimum gapps - official: minimal (20110613).
The first time I install the full gapps and it required a lot of space till my memory remains only about 50+ MB!

Then install S2E and perform the settings as according to Psyke's guide for S2E.

Then re-install your apps. You can back up with titanium and re-install back, but I don't use titanium as it sometimes may mess up the data files.

EDIT : I did not move my apps before uninstalling Link2SD. I just uninstalled it.

means uninstall all my apps before uninstall link2sd? how do i perform step 1,2,3 and 5?

If you use cwm to restore, it'll restore back to v1.2. Did you use google sync? It backs up your contacts.

Btw, you can also back up your contacts using :

> contacts > menu button > Import/Export > Export to SD card.

All your contacts will be back up in a file in your sdcard. Next time you can use the Import from SD card option to import back the contacts to your phone.
