Good day,

About to buy Dell U2711 27" LCD to used it as main monitor to avoid extensive used and small screen from my Dell Latitude E6410 14" Notebook which using build in graphic card on chipset Intel GMA HD.

What i worry is whether my notebook will display nicely and utilise the screen resolution of this 27".

The LCD having resolution 2560 x 1440, but i'm not sure my notebook build in graphic card (Intel GMA HD) will support it.

Thanks for enlightenment !

I think if you can afford a RM2k monitor, you definitely would have at least be able to afford a new laptop lol. Just sayin'

For my Dell U2311H with has no HDMI port. Which is the best connection to a desktop?

I have HDMI,DP(full sized) and VGA cables at home. Which would you recommend?

DVI-DVI?
Mini DP (from graphics card) to DP adapter? Or any other coverters...
VGA-VGA?

Either DVI or DP can do, skip the VGA.
if DVI cable is cheaper than DP converter then DVI cable, otherwise DP.

DVI-DVI should be fine right, I mean the quality? It's cheaper too and should be available at the shop I'm buying my PC at..

which one is better for gaming purpose especially for FPS game in between Dell U2312HM and LG IPS236V?
*
I'm using a Dell U2311H which has similar specs and I don't see anything wrong with FPS games. Tried Crysis 2 and Battlefield 3 no problem smile.gif

Guys. If i compare 1600x900 on a 20 inches monitor and 1920x1080 on a 21.5 inches monitor. The quality is same right?

1366x768 on a 18.5 inches monitor vs 1600x900 on a 20 inches monitor vs 1920x1080 on a 21.5 inches monitor(AKA 22")

Screen become bigger. But reso also higher. So basically the same. am i right?
*
Are you talking about PPI (pixels per inch) aka density of pixels?

Not sure why you're asking about that. Just get the highest resolution you can afford hmm.gif

1920*1080 ady enough for, cos most of my work is base at 1920*1080 format(1 page view all)

at the moment what brand offer best value for 27"
no need hi performance, just support full HD is good enough ady
*
I've not used a 27" 1080p monitor before but some say that the PPI is a little to low. 27" more suited for 2560X1600? hmm.gif

Why U2412 only bigger than U2312HM by 1 inches, but price wise need to add about rm 300?
*
U2412M is also 16:10, 1920X1200 which gives you extra 200 vertical pixels.

After jumping from glossy to Matte type of screen, I can tell you how bad glossy screen is laugh.gif

Prone to reflections/glare, always seeing yourself when using the monitor laugh.gif laugh.gif doh.gif

p/s: I'd go for the matte U2312HM if I were you lol

just whacked a PCBANK 3VIEW 27" IPS QHD panel from Korea via ebay just now, total damage about SGD400.

Anybody face customs problem with this? Going to ship it to Johor directly. Hope not too many dead pixels.

What monitor is that again? SGD400 is quite cheap drool.gif drool.gif
