Many people using Big 4 banks such as CBA,ANZ,Westpac and NAB but CBA has the most ATMs in Australia. I would recommend you to get CBA just for salary credit, ING debit card for 5% cashback for single receipt below $100(grceries,etc) and Citibank Plus Account for $0 fee international transaction but you must have an account in Citi Malaysia. Citibank is good for travelling too coz there is no international transaction fee

I believe Ubank offers the best savings interest at the moment, but I'm with ANZ (staff lah..) and has a progress saver account which is a high interest savings acc. For most banks, you can waive off the monthly fee if you credit your salary (min 2k/month) into your account.

I use CBA to send money back to KL ($22 per international transaction, but sometimes you get promo rates of $8), can't be bothered opening a Citi account in KL. I'll just foot the fee.. Money usually in my Msia account that very night! Try sending money on quarterly basis if fees are involved (and wait out for the best time to maximise best forex rate).

Will start up new job tomorrow. Hopefully everything runs well on new environment and colleagues.

Just came back from a 2 weeks vacation in SYD and MEL as well. Drove about 2k km in both states visiting the CBD and various suburbs and vacation spots. Lovin' the weather! Despite it can get lil chilly and windy sometimes. The art scene, people and food are just amazing.

First thing I did today after touching down today was submitted the EOI today under 189 and 190. 60 and 65pts respectively. Fingers-crossed for an invitation for the next 1-2 months if possible. 221213 occupational ceiling is 1k for the 2013/2014 programme year and 353 been invited so far as of recent. Job still listed under NSW (closed for the year), QLD, ACT and TAS.

last  i heard they going to remove most of the IT such as Business Analyst in SOL.

Yea, I am are that they need visa. Would it be possible to get visa but apply jobs from Malaysia. Once got the job, then only resign..??

It is just that I am very torn.. It is difficult to leave a secured and comfortable job in Malaysia and face uncertainty in Australia. I guess I just need to find a sponsor.. which means it would be from some rural/ remote areas, universities or state government.

yeah i saw a lot of asians drive BMW. But talk about driving in Australia, its pretty sickening to have to drive so sloowww...so many sign to tell you to drive slow..and speed trap.

Hi, I'm not sure if anyone over there is working in IT field over there? May need some advice getting a job over there.

Can I get more details about it? As I know IT is quite broad and there are many fields in this industry that we can build a career path. I'm curious where can I check what's the supply that is high at the moment in any specific specialization.
India supplies mostly software specialist?
IT industry in Malaysia is kind of generalized, they're not that specific, and I would say I'm more inclined/specialized in both IT Network and IT Windows/Hardware. Wondering if I have an opportunity to build my career there, even though if it's from scratch.
