Today i received a phone call from the EVGA Distro (Apec Sdn Bhd) saying my EVGA MB cannot be claimed as the MB was bend. This is what the Manufacture said to the Distro.
The MB cannot starts after using it for 6 months. They asked me to replace a new one for RM700.00 half a price. In my personal experience all the MB do bend after somethimes. Please advice. Delema shakehead.gif shakehead.gif shakehead.gif

MOBO bends because of heat. The board just cannot stand the heat so it warped. I guess your only choice is to buy a new MOBO. Avoid EVGA since they do not honour their warranty claim.

That's why... never buy EVGA in Malaysia, unless, you know how to deal with them.
EVGA Warranty is very hard to claim in Malaysia.

Better buy other brands like ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte, etc.

Very similar to my case for DFI X58 UT.
I removed the VRM heatsink and screwed it too tight causing the board to bend. The mobo blown into fire due to bad contact between PWM and heatsink. Thus failed to RMA in the end they offered me half price for a new replacement board.

TS, curious how and why is ur mobo bent? Using huge ass Noctua cooler?

EVGA warranty policy is:
There must be no physical damage to any component including the PCB, GPU/chipset, CPU Socket, or damage that is caused by:
inadequate or improper repairs carried out by any person or entity which is not authorized by the manufacturer to perform warranty services on its behalf;
negligence, accidents, modifications, defective installation or misuse and use of inappropriate spare parts;
fire, immersion in liquid, lightning, earthquake, inadequate ventilation, Acts of God, incorrect application of main voltage howsoever arising, or any other cause beyond the control of EVGA;
any other goods which can be used with the Product, but are not the Product itself;
consumable or wearing items requiring replacement as part of normal service, including (but not limited to) dry cells and rechargeable batteries.

have you contact EVGA about this issue? double check with EVGA is really cannot claim warranty or distributor side don't want to claim warranty.If EVGA allow you can direct send back to them, even postage fees also no need RM700

Actually my old experience with Asus as well.
My dead P6T they claimed got scratches on the board & requested me to pay RM120 to proceed for RMA. i'm not sure how serious is the scratches just that ive waited forever for their photos, in the end paid them coz i was very poor and wanted that board urgently huhuhu..

Dear Sir

I write to inform you that i was really disappointed and sad with EVGA for not honouring my motherboard warranty claim.
The excuse given for the void is because the motherboard was bend. The excuse is rather silly and does not make sense at all.
As far as i know most motherboard do bend or make to bend due to the heat and the nature of the heat sink. I got 3 computers with
me during the past and all of the motherboard in them do bend due to the above nature.
I purchase most of my computer parts from EVGA you can check the product i register in EVGA web site. The reason i use EVGA product because of its
reliability and good after sales service but this seems not the case here.

I hope that EVGA can exchange a new board for me without any cost involved as i have save very hard my monthly allowance to purchase this motherboard.

Thanks

Regards

Peter Chen

I have e-mail them asking them to replace a new MB.

Sorry for hearing the trouble to you. I'll have my team revisit your case and get back to you. Thanks for the patience.
